When I pulled my credit report today I noticed that it only listed two years of payment history. Is that all that is seen when someone else requests my report?

Most of our bills are in his name alone, although some are in mine--they're usually frivolous things that I shouldn't have signed up for but did. I can't afford to pay any of them off or back, we're so strapped we're barely able to pay the important things (rent, car, insurance, food, etc.) let alone pay for my Church movie group subscription (which is a 2 year contract, and I have to pay $200 to get out of it early), etc.

I'm still not clear on how a bankrupcy works, but I was told I ought to consider it.

But on the other hand, my husband has a decent credit score, and is very, very opposed to bankruptcy because of what it might do to his score.

But aren't our credit scores seperate??

I don't know how this works... Could you enlighten me?

My question is, what do I do first -

Do I go to my credit union first to get pre-approval for a loan then go to dealers a price the car I want -

-OR-

Do I get a bunch of different quotes from dealers, then after I found a price I like, I go to my credit union and get approved for the loan.

I personally thought that I would do the second, but considering I have never bought a car before I would like to know if I am correct before I proceed.

I now owe 11,100.00 I was told all of my payments went towards intrest. I know Im beeing riped off I just don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions? The collections agency sent me a payment summary showing my monthly payments. Also is there a way to pay a minimum without having your bank account frozen or garnished

My husband and I are struggling to pay our mortgage, two car loans, consolidation loans, two credit cards, student loans as well as medical bills for new baby. Should I see someone in a CCCS organization, or just try to stick it out for as long as I can? Our debt to income ratio is now 74%, by the way.

Moral issues aside, the bank had refunded my bank charges, but not the statutory interest. After filing in court etc they have now paid the charges again plus the outstanding interest. I believe that I read somewhere that after 5/10 days I can keep it, is this true, or shall I just ring my incompetent bank and tell them their mistake?

Right after Christmas, my grandpa died and since I helped financially for the funeral and gave some to my grandma, I had to pinch to make my credit card payments...before I got my bills my landlord raised my rent... I had to put all that pinched money up for rent! And have since missed a few payments on my credit cards.... Terrible I know!
Now my payments are more than I make in a paycheck! I have cut up my cards about a year ago and have been working on paying them off since. I don't have much debt in the cards. only about $1,200 between the two of them. I manage my rent, cell phone, and school loan payments just fine. The only problem is the credit card bills. I was thinking about trying to consolidate them... or taking out a small loan just to pay them all off so the interest stops getting me. What do you suggest? Am I thinking correctly?

If you owe a credit card company £4,000 and you write to them and offer them a settlement amount of £1568 and ask them to accept this as full and final payment of the amount outstanding and write off the remaining, is this usually accepted? Does anyone know anything about this and how it works? Anyone out there work for a bank who actions this kind of thing? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What would you suggest for her to do? She wants a car for about $10,000-$15,000 no extras. will she be approved for credit with the cash she has? In the past her car loans have been paid, but the credit cards haven't, there has been a problem with those. She's recently has just recieved a few good marks on credit record for recent payment on school loans. Any advice or ideas for her? Could she be turned down?

For people who are just trying to buy a house and not refinance it? We are looking at a $400,000 brand new home and they payments on that would be about $3,000/mo.

How come there is such a HUGE difference in payments???

Is it possible to go the regular way of refinancing and then 6 month down the road, refinance with the other company and save a heck of a lot more money? Or am I missing something here?

Please help, we are first time buyers.....

THANK YOU!!!!!

I cancelled a standing order online i'm pretty sure at least 2 days before the standing order was due out of my account. When I cancelled the standing order there was no notice saying how long it took and was instantly taking off my standing order list so i persumed that it had been done straight away. However, after checking my account they have charged me £38 for an unpaid fee. Is there a way of checking when i cancelled the standing order or will i need to ring Natwest to find out?
