In August of last year, my boyfriend, a roommate of ours, and I went to sign-up for the gym. The only way my roommate could sign up was if he had a credit card that the gym could charge payments from. My roommate had just opened his bank account that week and had not yet received his card so my boyfriend agreed to put his card on the account temporarily but they would change it as soon as our roommate received his bank card. Problems arouse in the household and we ended up moving out. They never changed it and now my boyfriend got sent to collections for my roommates account at the gym. Is there anything we can do so that we don't end up paying for something that is not ours?

Hi if I freeze all 3 credit reports. Can I still close a bank account??? Can I still open up a bank account???

Back in 2000, I lost my job and I ended up having my car reposessed. The money owed was on my credit as a negative for 7 years. It is set to roll off my credit this year. In the mail today, I received a letter stating that after 7 years, they have just now sent the money owed to a collections agency. Isn't this illegal? This seems to be a harassing technique set at purposely and maliciously marring a person's credit for longer than 7 years. Do I have any means of recourse, or because the first negative wasn't fully discharged off the credit, what they are doing is legal?

all help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I'm a college student who got a credit card a little less than a year ago. I spend a lot (around $700 a month) and always pay back the total in full before the due date. My bank has increased my credit line three times since because of my good credit.

So are there any additional advantages to having a good credit score than easily getting approved for credit cards and getting large credit lines? Does it also project to any type of loans (i.e. it is easier to get approved for a car loan with a lower interest rate) or something?

Let's say I have a bill of 140 due on march 20th and I pay the full amount on march 15. But then I use the card again on march 18. Will that recent purchase on the 18th have to be paid on the 20th also? Or will that be on the next statement?

I have a citi college credit card by the way.

I am aware that there is a penalty for withdrawing before maturity but I'm not sure if it has effect on my credit report.

Thanks!

Within the past couple of months, I've been receiving several letters per week from credit card companies enticing me to apply. I have bad credit, got rid of all my credit cards eight years ago, and am still paying off old debt. Could these letters have something to do with the fact I bought a new car last fall? Should I apply for a card to build my credit back up? How would I know what company to go with?

I just opened my first bank account.

I was told that I have a $500.00 withdraw limit using ATM machines. But is there a limit to use my debit card. Like for instance I have $5000.00 in my checking account, I can only spend $500.00 a day? even for purchases?

I have bad credit, and Im trying to clean it up. On one of my reports its shows a specific date that the charge will be removed from my report, paid or not. I know there is a 7 year window for when things are taken off your report. Does your credit score go up if its removed from your report after the 7 years despite not having been paid?
