Hi if I freeze all 3 credit reports. Can I still close a bank account??? Can I still open up a bank account???

I know this freeze on the three credit reports will prevent loans and new credit cards from opening up by anybody but can anyone help me with my two above questions.

Thank you.

If you had ID theft, you should file a police report and send that to the credit reporting agencies. They would place fraud alerts on your files.

If you think there is a chance for ID theft you can put a freeze on your files.

Yes you can open and close bank accounts, you just have to prove you are who you say you are.

It is a little more difficult to obtain new credit but not impossible.
You can lift your freeze for the creditors/bank that you are applying with. You should have a pin number to do that with.

You will have to explain to the creditors/bank about the fraud alert or freeze and you generally will have to prove you are who you say you are - by sending copies of your drivers license, utility bills in your name etc.

I do not understand the question. Why would you freeze your credit reports? Was your identity stolen?

particular, that's sufficient innovations for id theft. particular, they probably have sufficient innovations to verify your credit document - you are able to shop tabs on them to be certain in the event that they do via staring on the inquiries on your credit document. in the event that they do verify it, this is going to look as an inquiry, and you would be able to sue them for checking your document without your permission. there is no longer plenty you're able to do approximately giving your innovations to an employer - in the event that they have not got the innovations, they are able to't pay you.
