Well, if there's a judgement, there is nothing about you not WANTING to pay - in fact you simply have to!
So USD 2600 seems to be a fair offer, don't you think so as well? Have you asked a good friend with more business experience which would be your other possibilities?

First of all I would question the fact that they have a judgement against you. Were you served with papers to appear for the hearing. Did you recieve anything from the court stating that a judgement had been entered.? It sounds like your credit card company sold your account to a collection agency for pennies on the dollar and this is why they can offer you this settlement. I seriously doubt that you have a judgement against you. If you dont want to pay them, simply dont pay them but the harrass you like crazy.

In most states, judgments are valid for 30 or so years. So the fact that it is not listed on your credit report any longer is of no relevance.
This is a pretty good settlement offer. If you don't take it you wages can be garnisheed or your assets or bank accounts can be seized to pay the full debt.
Judgments carry interest so it is good to get rid of them quickly, otherwise you debt continues to grow.

Don't want to or can't? There's a difference.
If it's simply a case of not wanting to, your only options are
pay them, anyway. COmmitt Sucicide. Leave the country and change your name. Or go to jail. Take your pick, Todd. IF it's a credit card, then you wont be able to get another one from any creditor, until the debt is paid off.

If you don't pay they can escalate to the full amount. And if you refuse to pay that they can garnish your wages - pull the money out PLUS interest and fines the court decides you should be charged.
Suck it up and pay over time. If you don't, you will be looking at long term credit problems that will follow you for decades.

Don't kick a gift horse in the mouth. They are willing to settle for half of what you owe them. Take the deal. My suspicion is that your credit report already sucks, so don't worry about that. Take the deal.
By the way....if you want to borrow any more money.....I am NOT available to you as a potential lender. You just proved to me you're a lousy credit risk.
