PIN NUMBER REVERSAL "If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to The robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists." i got this from my friend. is it true?

I have about $30,000 in debts. Mainly from credit cards dating before 2002. I used to pay my bills on time, however, in 2002 I was diagnosed with a disabling illness and fell way behind on my bills. I no longer am able to work and have been on Social Security Disability Insurance for 6 months now. Would it be worth filing for Bankruptcy? or should I just wait till the "7 year reporting period" from creditors have passed, and not file? I really want to improve my credit rating ASAP! Also, I live in California and I'm planning on moving to Texas very soon. IF I should file for BK, Should I do it in CA or TX?

I currently have a cosigner who has two other new car payments he is taking care of (totalling to around $50k). I would like him to cosign for my $35k auto loan, would this be detrimental in any way?

Is there a maximum "loan limit" one can have?

Does having a cosigner "lessen" the amount of credit that is given on my behalf (I have no credit history)?

I've been trying to access my credit report through Equifax, but each time I try online it won't let me, so I tried mailing in which didn't work either. A friend of mine who works as a broker managed to pull a copy of the 3 combined which had a load of misinformation on it which she suspects is the reason they won't allow me access (different birthday and address). I even tried the FTC but they haven't done anything and told me to place a fraud alert, which I did with Transunion, and they would then have to send me reports which hasn't happened. That was over a month ago.How can I get my credit report from Equifax when I have no access to it or even a contact number for them that isn't automated?

My 12 year old just received a credit card offer in the mail from guess who...Capital One. As if those slimeballs ahven't been in enough trouble with class action lawsuits about predatory practices and marketing for those with bad credit or low income, now they're soliciting minors!

Is there a law that I can cite that would prevent them from soliciting to minors?

I have about 5 credit cards and it seems like 2 of them (both capitalone) carry an annual fee of $39. I'm in the process of closing one of them with a $0 balance since capitalone operator refuses to remove the charge. So my question is is there a better way at getting the credit card companies to remove this unecessary fee w/o closing the account, which I've heard causes your FICO score to go down?
