the ones that banks mainly use are experian and equifax. I've personally used experian. They usually let you have a 30day free trial of your credit report online, or you can pay for a paper copy which is less than £10. although i think you have to pay a bit more to check your credit score, which is what the banks use. only an extra £5.99 or something on top of your free trial. so it aint that bad. and you can cancel after the 30days is up.
the report is also good for checking credit fraud.

The 3 main ones are:

Experian
Trans union (this is the biggest one)
Equifax

As to which one the banks use will vary from bank to bank

There are three major credit bureaus.

Trans Union- providing credit reports and identity evaluation solutions for consumer-oriented businesses at www.transunion.com

Equifax- offers consumer and commercial credit reports and services at www.equifax.com

Experian- provides business and consumer credit reports, credit repair advice and services at www.experian.com

depending on what they want to know, they use them with or without keys.

keys shows everyone you owe money to, how much you owe and how well you conduct your account.
