they wan't you to get a credit card, they want you to screw up and pay them a lot of money, so just apply online, to a card that has no annual fee, say you make at least $15,000, and you'll get it in the mail in about a week.

Visa and MasterCard are probably the most popular cards. Most banks offer some sort of credit card. Credit cards are probably the most abused type of credit in the U.S. There is nothing you can do with a credit card that you cannot do with a debit card, except accumulate a lot of debt. If used responsibly it can help you build a solid credit rating. The problem comes in when you are short of cash and pull out the credit card to pay for something you don't need nor afford. If you get a credit card and pay the entire balance in full at each month, it won't hurt you. If you only pay the minimum amount due then you will wind up getting into trouble quickly. Once you mess your credit up, it can take years to get it repaired. You sound like you have already gotten into some financial difficulty. Accumulating more debt will not help your situation. The best kind of debt to have is none.

I agree with 86 mets--but sometimes you really do need a credit card. It is about the only way to rent a car or register for a hotel room. That is the ONLY thing I use mine for. I learned my lesson on credit cards in the 80's and 90's--don't want anymore of that.
Capitol One offers credit cards to just about anyone, with any credit.

Try getting a credit card that you pre-pay the limit. If you put 500dollars on it and dont get carried away then the next time you want a real card your credit is better than it was and getting a credit card will be easier with a history.

In order to re-establish your credit history with a credit card I suggest you look at more than one credit card offer b4 you finally choose one. Go to www.bankrate.com and search for companies that offer credit cards to those, like yourself, have a not-so-good credit past. By shopping you can get better terms than if you just picked the first offer you came across.

YOU DO NOT WANT A CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!!! Pay for it in cash!!!!!
If you can't afford it in cash, then you don't need it! you sound like your young and still have time not to make the same mistake that millions of people make!!!
Get a debit card which works off of your checking account, if you need to make reservations or anything, as long as the debit card has the visa symbol, you can use it and theres no interest charges, which add up BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!
