I expect people to tell me that I shouldn't spend so much money BUT... does anyone know any companies/banks that allow you get loans in smaller amounts. I need one for about $2500... maybe a personal credit line? I need to combine all of my credit card payments into one and thought this would be the best idea.

I may be returning to USA after 10 years for a brief stay. When I was in the US,
I owed some money to the shop cards [jc Penney, mont Ward, etc] and had one bad check for around 140$. These I could not pay.

I wish to find out what could be the worst that can happen. In the worst case,
I am ready to pay the money which is around 1700$ in all.

I am not returning to the same state where I stayed 10 years before and I am not planning to apply for any loans.

I will only need a bank account and also a credit card. Please let me know
if my normal life would be affected.

HOW DO I KNOW FOR SURE THAT MY STAY IN USA WILL NOT BE AFFECTED IN ANY WAY - WILL MY CREDIT HISTORY BE STILL IN RECORD. I WISH TO MAKE SURE THIS BEFORE I PLAN TO COME TO THE USA.

- I had one bad check which I could not pay around 140$
- I owed money of the order of 1700$ in total to some shop cards
- this happened 10 years ago

Your answer is appreciated.

Thanks

Suk.

I ordered a few things from Amazon.com but they sent me an email that said they couldn't process my credit card. (It's a visa check card). I assumed I had just typed my card number in wrong. But it has happened 3 times (each time I retried it with no problems) on Amazon. It also happened once at Target yesterday. I deposited my paycheck in my account, used my card at Best Buy with no problem, and then had to run my card twice at target to get it to work. I have used the same card at Target before then as well.

I always run it as credit, if that makes any difference.

I received an invitation from Applied Card Bank to accept a pre-approved credit card at www.thecardiwant.com. I have seen many invitations like this but this is the first time I have received this one. I usually research these and find out that they are a total scam but I haven't been able to find anything on this particular outfit.

i ordered a pizza and the girl asked for the last 3 digits on the back of the card when i was paying over the phone. i was shocked because i've never been asked by this type of establishment and i would really hope she wasn't asking for this # to use herself. now i'm paranoid and will be checking my account daily? should I be?

I am trying to enhance my credit, but do not want one of those annual fee type cards. I applied for a citi card but they told me I will receive a response in 30 days. I am assuming I was turned down. I applied for a sallie mae signature school loan and was approved w/out a cosigner. Is discover or any other credit card easier to apply for with my score?

I recently received a preapproved credit card offer in the mail. I applied for it online. When I went back to check the status of my application I noticed on my auto complete that the last digit of my social security number was wrong. I was approved. I called the credit card company about this and they reran the application. A week later I received a denial letter stating the reason was because I had already applied for the card. One day later I recieved the card in the mail. Again I called the credit card company and they said it was no big deal and just updated my account. What I don't understand is how I got this card under another number? I had applied for this card awhile back and was denied. I'm wondering if they had my information in the system and that is why I was approved? I don't know. Maybe somebody can help me with an answer.

I have been receiving notices for quite some time from a collection agency stating that I owe for a credit card. I have disputed this several times with nothing other than getting more notices.....So I sent a letter to them stating that I dispute this account and that I request validation of this account. They then sent a letter back to me stating that per the FDCPA I must request validation within 30 days of thier first notice. Well I knew nothing about credit reporting or collections or the FDCPA when I first received a notice many years ago, but my concern is how can they deny my asking for validation and send me a letter stating that they consider this valid and will continue to contact me even after I told them I dispute this and want validation?

I am trying to protect my identity, and personal information. Recently a person online without my permission or knowledge posted quite a bit of information about me, that they apparently found online. It was very troubling that people can find information out about you so easily. I want to protect myself. Every single Government agency, every financial institution, every healthcare provider has to have your social security number now. It didn't used to be that way. I don't know of any way I can protect myself from identity theft - how can I? thanks
