I left USA in 1995 and now after 10 years I am planning to work there for a
short time. When I left USA, i owed some money to a phone service company
($700) and had to pay card (shop cards) bills worth of $1500. I did not settle these paymemts and left USA. Now as I am planning to come back to US for a a period of 2 years, I wish to find out:

1. Will my non-payments affect my life in the US in any way ?
2. Can I open a back account
3. Can i get a credit card ?
4. Will there be any other potential legal problems ?
5. Will i need a new SSN ?

Could you please let me know if there will be any problems ?

Thanks,

Suk

I got a credit card after I cleaned my credit up. I don't have excellent credit...my score is around 650, but when I got my credit card it was much lower and I think that's why my interest rate was so high. Where can I get a better interest rate and transfer my balance from my other one without being denied?

I've recently applied for low-income housing. I'm 21 and I hate living with my parents, they argue and fight way too much for me. The thing is, the representative told me that I have a very good chance based on my application, but they will check my credit.
What exactly are they looking for when they do a credit check?
Truth be told my credit is no where near perfect. I have $61 in collections and two credit cards that were once delinquent. They are up to very good standings since I got a much better job. Also, my loan payment is always a month ahead. And, I have about seven inquiries within 12 years since I was trying to get a car. You think I'm going to get rejected? She did say that they werent looking at the actual score, just to see if you had any bank repos or serious collection issues. I'm still so scared and damn anxiosu.

I'm debating turning in my Aunt. She is a cleptomaniac and she steals people's identity to get credit cards in their name. She is out of control. I love her but she needs help but I'm not sure if I should do it or maybe have someone outside of the family turn her in. What do you think??

I'm dealing with this collection agency and I was on a website that suggested verifying that the agency is licensed to collect debts. Number one: If the agency is in another state, do they have to be licensed in the state in which they do business, the state in which they are trying to collect, or both? Number two: Does Pennsylvania require licensing? I understand that this varies from state to state.

If I finance my car and I pay all the payment on time, does it build up credit faster than just using the credit card? I am confused.
I wonder how do we build up credit?
I am arguing it with my friend about this.
Thank You for your help

I know there are alot of scams to fixing your credit. Im not looking for hand outs on how to get rid of bad stuff im responsible for. Im just looking to increase it. In my quest to try to raise my score i found this site http://www.williamsfinancialcorporation.com/. They add you as an authorzied user to one of their accounts to show you have a long never deliquent credit history. Has anyone heard of this? Do you think its a scam? Is it me being naive? Thank for the help
