I received an invitation from Applied Card Bank to accept a pre-approved credit card at www.thecardiwant.com. I have seen many invitations like this but this is the first time I have received this one. I usually research these and find out that they are a total scam but I haven't been able to find anything on this particular outfit.

I just got this sham deal in the mail today.Outrageous APR for starters.I've never even heard of this company before today. If you want a GREAT card for lesser credit, then you NEED the Orchard Bank card.I've had a few cards of this sort and Orchard destroys the rest for rates, customer service and 2% cash back.
You can apply right on the Yahoo! home page. It's the good card for ugly credit. It's always there.
Go to www.ripoffreport.com and look up applied card bank.Thecardiwant may be there as well, but applied card bank is definitely there.
Orchard has files there too,but that was from before HSBC owned them.Orchard is by far your best choice if you have limited credit.Stay away from Imagine or Aspire.First Premier isn't terrible, but the customer service really stinks.

Avoid them like the plague. They prey on people with lousy credit who are desperate for a credit card. They charge huge fees to get the card, charge extra for you to pay your account online, charge huge fees for a credit line increase.

In general they are everything you DON'T want in a credit card company.

Yes I got the same thing and you have to go to the web site called appliedcardbank.com and then if you wish to accept the card then you have to put that activation number in and go from there.Hope this helped you out.

I've never heard of them, doesn't sound like a good idea.
