My ex girlfriend and I had a joint credit card with myself as the primary. She racked up a huge bill. She filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy last year with this credit card listed as one of the creditors. I have not heard from the collection agency since that time. It is still on my credit report. Can I dispute this even though the credit card bill was legitimate and can they still try to collect from me? I have done many searches on what my rights are but I have not heard much on this specific issue.

we never live with credit cards before. and now we have 5000$ on our credit cards that we cant close . we are doing a min paymant every month and trying to pay more than that. we will have a bonuce 7000$ at the end of the year. will it be beter to pay to credit cards at onece. or there is another way to pay credits(and put this bonus on investment).
I read about calling to creditors and talking with them, so they will give a 10-20% of if we will pay it atonce, but will it afect in bad way to our credit report.
Sorry for wrong English writing.

I have gone through a divorce and acquired bad debt (foreclosure, repo, etc...) while ridding myself of a spouse. I feel there is no other way to start clean than by filing bankruptcy. Is this the right decision? Any bankruptcy success/ failure stories?

I went through a divorce and had to file bankruptcy almost 4 years ago. Does anyone know of a place who would offer me a student loan or personal loan for additional education expenses that my federal stafford loans don't cover? Even a credit card that would give me a chance?? Thanks for any help or advice that you can send my way.

I'm shopping around for a new credit card company. My Visa Citicard that I've had since 97 is garbage. The balance pretty much stays at $0The interest rate is steadlily increasing (now 28%) and they don't offer any rewards. I want to survey real people. What cards are people using and what are the rates? Please, only the card name bank and interest and if someome has a really good rate and a decent company and wish to share that will be greatly appreciated.

Pay DOWN one high balance credit card or pay OFF a few smaller balanced ones. For example, lets say I have one CC with a balance of 5000 and 4 others with a $500 balance. If I have $2000 should I completely pay off the 4 or bring the $5000 one to a $3000 balance. Thanks!!

I have an account in collection that is not a loan, but that I owe a college I went to for a few weeks. I do not have a contract for this or anything. The college never got money for tuition because I cancelled the loan to give them the money because I had to leave the college. I was told I would not be obligated to pay because I was only there for a few weeks. I never signed anything, nor was anything given to me to tell me that I would be obligated. So now, on my credit report it has this collection for the tuition. Should I look into this and try to get it off my report since I have no contract, etc? It is not a loan, just money owed to the college...
