Offer a low percentage in writing and make sure you dont pay over the phone.

Use the letters in this http://www.expert-credit-advice.com/ free credit repair kit to make the offers, it worked great for me!

Listed below is the free site that I have found most useful for people wanting to repair their credit. It shows statutes of limitations, sample letters to send to creditors, and lets you know what the credit companies can't do and the fines they would have to pay if they do. Most companies find the using 30% or less of your available credit is good. Good luck!

There is an e-book at this web site with a very long chapter dedicated to that subject. The author investigated that industry for 1200 hours.
