When I called to activate my card, I was put thru to a very quick-speaking man. I was on my cell phone at the time, and when he said certain things, the reception would break up & I couldn't understand what he said (on top of how quickly he was speaking). My question is to anyone else who may have/had a Capital One credit card, what was the $0.99 thing I heard the man talk about? I said "No, I'm ok," but I don't know if he heard the "no" or just the "ok" part (When I call Customer Service, I can't get past the answering machine). I'm not sure what was added to my account. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

I canceled a certain credit card in July. I was only paying for a legal service and was not using the credit card. I canceled the legal service and the credit card last month.
Today I got a bill for the legal service and an extra twenty dollars. I called them up and they said, even though I canceled the card they are still going to charge me ten dollars a month, and I cannot use the card. Will someone please help me. I want to get rid of this card. Are they allowed to do that.

Hello,

Now this last month i am getting calls on this demanding 7k for this card and now. I hung up the phone and that was the last time i talked to him in person. He calls from hear on out 3 times a day leaving messages a jail time, fraud ect. He even called my neighbors, relitives and even my grandma, leaving messages ect saying he has a pending law suit on me, or he tells them that i have a case filled agaist me. He left a message just last week telling me if i dont call him he is going to contact the IRS for fraud. I have all of the messages and my relitives to and i talked to a friend and he advised me to pull my credit, so i did and here is a 7k thing in collections for NC recoveries. I bought a house about 2.5 years ago and that was not on there nor the orginal. My fico droped 90pts.

If I made a stop payment on a check once, and the person re-deposited the check, would it go through or would the original stop payment still be valid?

I cannot resist the urge to get an extra $20 bucks off a purchase by applying for a credit card. Then I pay it off and cancel the card. Does this hurt my credit rating? I bought a wet dry vac today at Sears and managed to get $25 bucks off by applying for a Sears card. When I do this I always pay the balance off within 30 days. Should I quit doing this? Should I cancel the card everytime?

I live in Tennessee. I have corresponded with them from the beginning and have told them that now I can pay the $225 I was paying before I had problems. I have paid payments of $500 once and $450 three times. They insist I have to pay the $450 until the card is paid off. Is this legal?

ok i've always paid my credit card on time, usually min. payment but anyway we have fallen on some serious hard times and its very late, they have offered me a settlement of only 20% of the balance and if i pay that im suposed to be done with them after that..first question..sounds too good to be true, anyone ever been thru this? The bad part, thye have harrased my family more than I. it is the original creditor so im not sure what their rights are. They have called my sister in law and mother in laws cell phone at all times of the day, they asked how he got their cell phone# and he has lied to both of them saying that I had called his office from their phone, they tell him its not their problem and not to call them back, especially on their cell phones because of the charges and he has been extremly rude with them and is STILL calling them even after I have talked with him..Is this legal ????Even after Ive spoken with him the harrassment of my family continues??????????
