I heard even after 3 years, and diligent credit rebuilding these CC companies still deny credit (back above 650 score). Since BKs stay on the credit report for 10 years this sucks. Any experienced people or credit industry experts know the real answers?

Just got new mortgage on house. Credit score in May was high 680 (not great ut not horrible). Went online to check score last week and now at 560!! No negative credit information whatsoever. No late pays or collections. I do carry high balances on credit cards and that is why I have never been over 700 but I don't understand this. I talked with customer service rep at Equifax and she looked at my credit report and couldn't explain it either. What do I do???

my husband and I both have never owned a credit card. I was preaproveed for a card and was thinking about activating it but i have no idea how it works. Do i just spend money and then pay off the card in monthly payments and how does intrest work. Basically, i need someone to explaine to me how to use, and payoff and manage a credit card, like your explaining it to a kid..because im cluesless about it. Thanks!

I have a checking account with a Credit Union, and today I was sent a credit card payment thingy and I have to pay for it...I just naturally thought the money would get deducted from my checking account. But guess not, so now I need to know how to get checks...lol, I know sound dumb. But yea, I never had to deal with these things until now. Thanks!

to a new one even though it is basically the same company now. for instance and ATT cell phone that cut off due to a sister in law adding phones without consent and having an $800 bill over 2 years ago and now having a Cingular cell phone for the same period since the phone got cut off? Nothing has ever been said and I have fought with ATT for 2 years now. I have had Cingular for those 2 years and now they are saying they are going to add that bill to my current one. Can they do that? Should I make ATT Send me the signed contracts or what can I do this is BS if you ask me cause I thought it was taken off my account because it was actually hers.

Do you actually believe this would work? I am thinking of trying it, but unsure if the process is real!

I recently pulled a copy of my credit report and noticed that on one of my accounts, it's noted as "Profit & Loss Writeoff". What does this mean?

Can you still get a home loan if you have a reposessed car on your credit even though you are paying on it? A friend of mine got a job offer in another state & is going to sell his house but would prefer to sell it to friends. He told me & 2 friends of ours that we have dibs on it if we want (cause we really like it!) but they are married & have a reposessed car on their credit right now. It was auctioned off below the original price so they have to pay the difference & are slowly paying on it..........can we still get a home loan & would there be better chances at getting one if they have me included on it? I have really good credit. (Paid off a car in my name in 2 1/2 years & never missed a payment on it or anything else.)

We are all in our 20s, STILL living w/ parents right now & are desperate to move out & live our own lives before they drive us nuts!!!!!!!

A friend and myself were discussing this the other day, basically because my credit rating sucks as I rinsed overdrafts and credit cards whilst at Uni.
I'm moving house soon, and we don't see why I can't apply for a loan with a decent rate of interest (normally reserved for people with "good" credit history) to pay off my debts, simply by saying I've lived at that address for, say, the past 5 years, maybe even change some small details, such as date of birth, middle name etc to further remove that history from my records.
Does anyone here actually know exactly how your credit history is linked to you? We thought it might be National Insurance number, but that's not asked for when applying for credit cards / loans.
Cheers.

I filed for bankruptcy 3 years ago and was discharged. Today, I attempted to open a new bank account and was told I had an "unpaid bankruptcy." What is that and how do I fix it?

The only thing I can think of is that I listed the collection agency instead of the bank that issued the credit card (or the reverse) and the one got the message but didn't communicate it to the other.
