Yes, having worked for a Canadian bank, I know that an international credit check will be done unless you have a S.I.N. # and a piece of Canadian government issued ID. Then you will have a better chance of having your US credit score overlooked. The two are seperate. The Canadian credit score is sperate from the US however a note eluding to one or the other may be put on either and your past residences may also be included to either one. Bad credit is hard to shake. The best thing to do is to start with whatever you can and work hard at building a good and sensible credit rating.

Yes it will - - unless you plan on changing your name and social security number, they will still likely look at your credit history from the states.

Consider the fact that Equifax - a main reporting company here - is also a major credit reporting company in Canada. . .
