I am in charge when the manager is out..

this person took it upon herself to leave the office, she did not tell me she was going on a break. I then asked her, ‘did you go on a break?’ While filling her face she said ‘yeah’ with her back to me.

I then asked ‘Did you tell me you were going on a break? Because you just up and went.’ She did not answer, she continued eating and would not give me the decency to look at me and retort with an answer.

She then got the hump and said I should not have asked her in front of everyone ‘did you tell me you were going on a break…’

She then said that I have to email her the procedure of her having to report to me about going on a break. I told her that she used to always tell me that she was going on 10 minute breaks before, whats the problem now?

She is being very difficult, she then proceeded to say that I was unprofessional and that if it continues, she will leave.

I have emailed the MD

How would you deal with thi

I am currently studying Journalism but I work the register at a Pharmacy for cash.
My mum is a Retail Pharmacists (same pharmacy as me, the whole reason why I have a job there lol)
My estranged father is an Advertising Art Director last time I checked.
My older sister is a Nurse at a hospital.
My older brother is currently studying to be a Systems Engineer, he works at a surf clothes shop for some cash.
My two younger twin brothers are still in school. One wants to be a professional dancer and the other wants to join the RAAF. They don't have jobs.
What about you guys?

Isn't there anymore trucking companies out there that don't require you to be with a "driver trainer" for weeks on end? before you go on your own? I completed 10 weeks of school, and the job search is ridiculous.

I was on my day off and I show up to my job at a fast food restraunt. While there I let slip a "cuss" word. My manager heard me and threatened immediate termination because of it. I was wondering if they could legally fire me, or would it be considered wrongful termination?

I recently interviewed with a major bank in California. They performed an extensive background check that included fingerprinting. They just extended an offer which I accepted. The agency that I went through to get the interview is now asking to perform an additional background check. Other than pure curiosity on their part, what reason would they have to run a background check AFTER their client did so and extended an offer? I plan to decline as I see no reason for anyone other than my employer to maintain a record of my personal information. What possible repercussions could occur if I decline? Am I legally required to allow them to check my background after their client already checked my background and extended an offer? Could the agency jeopardize the offer that was already signed if I do not allow them to run a background check on me?

okay, I faxed all my info to the company who wants to hire me for this position.
For my ID's, I faxed a copy of my driver's license [of course valid,ha!] and a copy of my birth certificate.
I get an email today, which I thought was rather snotty. and she said that I needed to send in two forms of ID, which I've already done!
The other receptionist told me Friday "all my paperwork came in"!
I don't understand that person, never have run into a weird prob like this, [well maybe she's on drugs?]

Yesterday I had a great interview with a company regarding a graphic design position. Previous to this job I had worked for 1 1/2 months at a previous job - where because of miscommunication and personal reasons, I left without notice. (Where I live, you are entitled to leave a job without notice within a 3 month time frame). I did not feel it was necessary to include this job on my resume, but today I was confronted by the potential employer regarding this last job. He said he was informed by an employee that worked there that I left without notice and that this causes concern with them choosing me as a candidate. My question is: Is it fair for this potential to investigate a reference that I did not give? It was for these reasons that I did not include the reference in the first place. If I was offered the position, I suddenly do not feel comfortable working in an environment where some of my personal life has been exposed (and could it potentially become a larger problem?) Thanks!

Most work from home positions offered on-line have a one time membership fee, application fee, a fee for training materials or a shipping and handling fee. No matter what, there seems to be a way to get money out of a un-employed person. How could a person afford to risk any amount of money especially revealing their credit card/account to these companies, when they don't have a job to begin with?!!!

I have had 2 interviews and they checked all refrences, now they had me to take a drug test and background and said it usually takes about 1 1/2 weeks to get the background results back and said they would be in touch.

They never once said if I was hired or not but they had me take the drug test and background check so I am just wondering if is their policy not to tell you you are hired till all the tests and checks come back.

BTW it has only been a week but I am just wondering because I have never been ask to take a drug test before I knew I was hired or not and I am thinking the job is mine when the results are back but want other opinions.

I've been working at a place for 1 1/2 years and finally asked for a review/raise. The review went fairly good, and I tried to point out a lot of things I contributed to our company (we only employee 4 people.) I have accumulated most of the responsiblities, and I feel like I bend over backwards to keep the place running. After 5 weeks of WAITING, I finally got my raise, and I am not very happy. The bottom line is I am looking for new job, but how can I let my boss know that I feel underappreciated?

If I would like to become an alcohol and drug counselor, would I only need my A.A Degree from my local community college. In their catalog, it says that after an A.A. is earned, there are plenty of job opportunities available. Is this true? Is it a safe career? And does it pay well?
