Im about to quit my job, but dont know what to tell the boss. I work in a resturant and i'll prefer a less pressured job. I want a different job, and haven't got one so far as i have to wait till exams are over, but need to give at least 2 weeks notice in which i should do around now. What do i say without sounding to cheesy???

All you need to do is tell him/her that you've found another opportunity more related to your personality. Nothing wrong with that and people do it all the time.

You should not quit the job until you get a firm offer from a new job and THEN you give a 2 weeks notice. You will regret it if you don't find a new job first. When you are giving your 2 weeks notice DON'T tell him/her that you can't handle the pressure. You can say that you find another place of employment that is in your field of study. Whatever you say make sure that you don't say you are quitting because of too much pressure.

I wouldn`t say anything or quit my job until the exams were over and found another job,but to keep a good job record at least give him a two week notice.Tell him the truth and it wo`nt sound cheesy.

First of all, wait until you find another job to give notice at this one. Any reasonable employer will understand that you can't start right away because you have to give notice at your current job.

When you do tell him, write a letter saying "effective (date) I resign my position with (company name). I appreciate the opportunities I have been given" and sign your name.

the last time i quit when i worked at a restaurant, i gave no notice. i waited until there was a line out the door, food in the window, and threw my apron at the boss and said many bad words.
