What would you get in to? My bills are roughly $4k a month and many jobs are commission only... Any ideas?

Here's the deal...

I've given my two weeks notice. I am supposed to go to Vegas this Thurs & Fri. for a trade show - I don't want to go. The company has already purchased my plane ticket and hotel room.

I know, I know, its Vegas but I don't want to go. Trade Shows are boring and you work your rear-end off - you never get anytime for yourself.

How do I get out of this without burning bridges...

It's now been nearly a year since I've been actively searching for a job. Four interviews later and still nothing. Heck I had an interview TODAY and received the rejection email just a few minutes ago.

I'm getting frustrated. I have a flipping degree and that's what is supposed to be my key to success. Yeah, right. No experience but a degree = bad news.

I'm not even being picky--it's not like I'm expecting to make a certain amount of money. It's not like I'm just sending my resumes to jobs that sound fun. I've had my resume and cover letter critiqued by professionals so many times.

I don't know how to stay motivated anymore. It's like I walk into an interview knowing that I won't get it.I want my youthful spirit back.

I'm just to the end of my ropes right now. I even tried a temp agency and WAS TURNED AWAY. They told me that I could use my degree in better ways.

I don't know how I'm going to face my husband tonight and tell him that I didn't get the job.

I just started working at a dept. store and learning the ropes. I've been an associate for about 2 months part-time. I love the job and most of the people that I work with are very nice. However, I have one manager that is just plain rude/mean. I was taking care of a family of customer mom,dad and two toddlers. They purchased a box of tennis shoes and normally I have to check the size/style but, the mother was wearing them. I mentioned that we check and there was a "break" in the transaction as the mother was going to take the children to the car. BEFORE I could say/do anything my manager Screams at me "YOU NEED TO CHECK HER SHOES NOW !" Honestly, I was shocked that someone much less a manager would speak to me in that type of tone. So, I paused and asked the customer politely if I could check her shoes?" she was fine with it but, NOT with the way the manager delt with me. They told the manager that she was rude/inconsiderate of me and wanted the corporate number names etc...

I got some questions I want to ask the potential employers, but I'm afraid I might forget them. I'm interviewing with the VP of sales and the recruiter. Is it okay and professional to read the questions out of a note pad and write their repsonse down? My interview is up soon, so please help asap.

I work for a company that told me paydays were every other Friday. Over the last few months, I have been told that it's actually Saturday (the date on the check is always Friday's date) or been told that I could have my check on Friday but couldn't cash it until after 3pm. The reasons have varied...the owner is out of town and forgot to make a deposit, the GM's mother is dying so she can't deliver the checks, the owner deposited money Friday morning and it won't clear til after 3pm, etc, etc, etc.
It all sounds like bull, or at least like this store owner has no clue how to run a business.
Is this legal? If not, who do I report him to? I am tired of having to put my bills on hold until he decides to cover the pay I earned.

about a month ago, a coworker went to HR with a bogus story that I and another coworker spoke innapropriately around her, her claim was false, I refused to sign the harrasment write up because it was false. since then she has been fired for lying which proved even more that we were innocent of her claim, still on wednsday, me and this other individual were also fired because of tardiness, without the bogus harrasment charge this would have just been our first write up, but since the charge still stood, the company decided to let us go, I feel that I was wrongfully let go and am being advized by other coworkers that I should pursue legal action, can anyone tell me if I have a case, or can anyone tell me where I can go or who I can talk to to find out.

I am constantly applying for jobs. After I have submitted my job applications, how often should I check with employers to make sure they don't overlook my application and choose someone else? I discovered this problem today where I had applied for a job back in August. I was constantly contacting the manager expressing great interest in the job position. All I kept hearing was they were having some sort of difficulties (whatever that is) in the hiring process and nothing was available at that time. I saw this job in a job ad and part of the ad says "no experience needed, we will train". So I'm thinking cool I can handle this and the pay wasn't that bad either. All the times I have been asking about this job position and expressing all my interest for this job I got the "traditional" we will call you response, which sucks by the way. I checked on that job again today and found out the job was given to someone else. This always happen to me everywhere else and I am a good worker too.

I really don't know what to do, I need a job, but I am too bad at interviewing, I am quiet and forgot what I was about to say, but I need money, I want to travel and I can't afford to do anything, but I'm not sure I could face another interview, and some of you will probably judge me and tell me to get over it, but this isn't just a job issue, I've been this way my whole life and I'm never going to get anything and It really scares me... I feel like an idiot and that I'm no good for anything..

My daughter was taken on as a recruitment officer and for past month really enjoyed it. However, on Monday she overslept, rang in straight away and was told to take day off and that the Manager would want to contact her. He doesnt work in office. She tried for days to get hold of him, leaving voice messages and texts. When he did return her calls he said she hadnt bothered to contact him, and that someone else is starting her job on Monday!! In saying that he said if she doesnt work out we will consider you again. Can he do this? She is devastated as she really enjoyed this job

I was at an interview and I was asked something like this,
"Are you familiar with xxx?",
"Have you done xxx before?",
"If I need you to do xxx, can you do it?"

The problem is that "xxx" are those skills and knowledge NOT listed in my resume. I said I can learn on the job but apparently, that is not good enough. Eventually, they rejected me on the spot because I did not meet their expectations.

While I expect rejection to be part of the job hunting process, but in this case, I think it is uncalled for. I mean if they keep asking me for skills I do not currently possess, of course I cannot meet their expectations.

Am I giving the wrong answer by saying I will learn on the job? How can I improve my answer?

Recently I was disqualified for unemployment benefits in CA cause I plan to return to school. Ok fine by me I guess. Now I found out 2 weeks later that my school schedule would be at night time. I probably could look for a job now. Do I need to reapply again and change my eligibility? Or would it be a better idea to just say that I won't be going to school at all? Do they see that on my record that I got denied if I do reapply again with a different reason? I really want this course but cannot afford it without financial help. Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

I have a phone interview tomorow my present job pays me peanuts to be at home semi layed off. So if I get this new job should still let the old one pay me until they call me back then tell them I quiet. I know my present job is just leaving me a home hoping I quiet so they do not have to pay for unemployment.

I'm working part time, but want a full time position. There is a full time position open during hours that I can work consistently, on time and do the job. My employer keeps hiring others, (who have other jobs as well), but tells me that it is because of the responsibilities of my other job.

Do I have a discrimination case?
