I really don't know what to do, I need a job, but I am too bad at interviewing, I am quiet and forgot what I was about to say, but I need money, I want to travel and I can't afford to do anything, but I'm not sure I could face another interview, and some of you will probably judge me and tell me to get over it, but this isn't just a job issue, I've been this way my whole life and I'm never going to get anything and It really scares me... I feel like an idiot and that I'm no good for anything..

Download the brochure for employers from http://www.stutteringhelp.org/DeskLeftDefault.aspx?TabID=13 and take it with you to the interview. Start out by telling them that you stutter so they won't think the stuttering is from nervousness or lying about answers. Even go back to some that you have already interviewed with and tell them that you would like a second chance since you know you did poorly.
You are most likely stuttering more during interviews because you are trying NOT to stutter. It is better to admit that you stutter before the interview, give them the brochure that states that people who stutter make good employees, and concentrate on the questions rather than on trying not to stutter on your answer.
Get the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" and work through the steps to better fluency and better self esteem. I have several uncles and cousins who used that book and one uncle who went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering and found that she used that book in her sessions.

English,
It sounds to me like you have a bigger mountain to climb than just learning how to conduct yourself in an interview. It sounds like this is a major issue with you in other areas of your life as well.
It is very obvious to me that you have a severe self-esteem problem. You must work on this, not only for an interview but in your lifestyle as well. Low self-esteem can have a big impact on many areas in your life. I have been a victim of this myself.
You have to become confident in yourself. Then, the rest will follow. If you aren't confident in yourself then it will show in every aspect, be it your professional or your personal life. Not only can it cost you jobs, it can cost you relationships and friendships as well.
I would love to send you some motivational materials that can help you in developing a mindset of self confidence. If you would email me at bonnieram1962@yahoo.com, I will be glad to send you some materials that will help.
You can do anything your heart desires if you have the right mindset and self-confidence! You are limited only by your own thoughts and beliefs! I wish you all the best and hope that you will allow me to help you.

Try a temp agency. They can get you jobs that can and often do turn into full time jobs.
I ONLY hire from temp agencies. I can bring people in and see how they work for 6 months and with a simple call, they can be replaced. It takes all the guess work out of hiring because you know how they work. After 6 months, there is also no hiring fee from the agency.
I started my career out that way 25+ years ago.

I have years of experience with hiring people. I suggest making an investment in your future by getting a good interview skills book and role playing with a friend.
You may also wish to consider a firm like LTS, they provide very effective career development materials at a low cost (under $30). VISIT www.leantosucceed.biz.

You dont really have a choice. If you want a job then you will need to be more confident in interviews.
If you can tell all of your friends, anyone you know, that you are looking for a job (you do need to say what sort of job you are looking for) and see if networking will help.
Otherwise you need to practise - with friends & family - and learn to be more confident.

The very first act which you should practise is to present your self in front of the mirror as if you are representing your self in an interview. If you forget to say something then you should make a habit of reading books which is specially made for the business organistaions

Few people do well at interviews without practice and experience. It can take awhile to improve your skills at interviewing, but you can improve only if you keep practicing and keep going to interviews.
Instead of telling yourself that you are bad a something, try looking at it like you want to do better. Sometimes the toughest thing to learn to cope with is rejection. No one likes to be rejected, but successful people learn from their mistakes, take steps to improve, and then keep trying.

Practice with your friends and family then keep trying. Unless you are applying to work with people it won't matter. Try to get a job working with animals or machinery where talking isn't important.
