After attending an interview, maybe you felt you didn't like something about the place or people, or you didn't like the sound of the job after hearing more about it, etc. What did you do? Was it an easy choice to make?

I temp as a secretary. However, deep down, I am rebellious and hate rules. I'm in a temp booking where I have been asked to make a cup of tea for a gentleman who will be coming into the office this afternoon. Although I have accepted this on the surface, I can feel the feelings of resentment/anger welling up inside me already. I want to progress into permanent PA work and I know this will involve me having make the occasional drink for managers, etc, but I get so inwardly inflamed!!! How can I get over this, or am I right in that I shouldn't be making refreshments for visitors/clients after all?

Hi I am 18 years old turning 19 this November, a Junior College student. Well I am devastated about my chosen career. I am graduating soon with an IT major on October 2008. When I was in my Sophomore year, I realized that I want to be a nurse and work in America but unfortunately my parents didn't allow me to change my major, they told me that I should finish my IT major and then probably study again after graduation. I am getting depressed, I feel like I am wasting my time, my youth... I am going to study again for 2 to 3 years and will take an exam after 2 years so I can work in America.... I am getting old... by that time ........ peeps my same age are making a lot of money already and how about me??? It's frustrating :( help! advices plssss

I got a job at an espresso stand it is not doing well the prior owner ran it into the ground. When I accepted the job I thought I had enough money to float untill it picked up. Then I checked my account I thought payments had already been takin out but they hadn't and I'm broke they can only afford me 2 to 3 times a week so i checked in at a place I used to work and they offered me a job and I want to work there but I thought I could work both I know it was probably stupid but I told my new boss right away I just didn't want to surprise her raise her stress level but then she got me a job right next store I didn't want to work there I just didn't expect it to happen within a half an hour I thought I 'd have more time to think about taking the postion so I told her after work and after agree to it that I was having 2nd thoughts I don't want to work til 930 at night and I liked my old job and I'd be going back doing only the things I like I think my boss think I'm a flake what would u do

Okay, so I had decided I wanted to be a teacher. Im at a community college now working on my AA in Liberal Arts and transfer to a 4 year college... But now I dont thinkg I want to be a teacher anymore!

Im interested in other areas like sociology, history and religions. More though on sociology and history. Those are my passions.....But what the heck can I do with those two areas right there besides teach if I major in them? I dont want to be a social worker; they are really underpaid and dont make much. People with a PhD in social work start at 40k... and thats having a PhD!!! And what cant I do with a history major besides teach? Im thinking probably nothing???

I am so confused and dont know what to do. Im frustrated because I want to already be doing something meaningful and earning good money to start living my life with my honey-bunny then have a family. Im feeling so desperate, Im thinking of quitting college altogether and doing a short career thing in nursing.............

i spoke to a man last night who said if you claim incapacity benefit and work part time you can be interviewed under caution he said his wife worked 10 hours a week and had to be interviewed she told them she had this work but they still interviewed her, they stopped her benefit and taped the interview she was not being watched and they did not ask her employer
i looked into this and it does say you can work under 16 hours a week and still get benefit
she said she was not doing anything wrong and was not a benefit fraud
another lady told me that she may have to pay back 1 pound a week as she was not allowed to do permitted work but was told she could do this work rather than go on to income support

what really happens in a interview and can they make you pay back the money if you only have a small income
and how do they find all these things out

I have qualifications, but I do not have the skills most employers look for. I also do not work well in a team and am not a team player. I also have a medical condition which means I find it hard to go to interviews and talk to employers because I am so nervous and they do not want someone so nervous. I am on unemployment and the employment agency is forcing me to work. I cannot tell them about this because they would not understand and I find them hard to deal with. I would like to work for myself, I am very good at writing and would like to do this for a career and am working on it but it takes time. I also find most employers to be pains to work for because they expect so much and with my medical condition I find it hard to learn new things and time is money. People have tried to change me to the image they want in the company but get frustrated and say I cannot learn. I just learn in a unique way and they do not understand or want to understand. What can I do?

Has anyone ever registered with any of these online companies that pay you to take surveys? Any links to reputable sites?

I'm a student living at home, but classes and school take up most of my time, so I don't have the time to have a job. But I'm looking to have at least some money of my own.

Any information or experience with these surveys would be appreciated, thanks.

I am trying to find a way to contact DON's at Nursing Homes in order to set up clinical trials for a new medical device. What is the best way to go about doing so (i.e. getting in the door.) Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to try to cut to the chase; let's be honest--no one REALLY wants to read a wall-o-text to try to figure out what the heck a person is trying to say.

Basically it's this: I have a degree in communications. It's now time that I go out and find a job. One of the jobs I am considering requests skills in accounting. I've never taken a class, though my mother was an accountant while I was in junior high and I often assisted her. In addition I am intending on taking accounting classes through a local juco in the spring.

This is part-time position working for a small, 100 member church.

Knowing this, should I send my resume or shrug it off and keep looking for something else?

Say, I accepted a job from company A and signed the contract for it, and the job will start in 2 weeks.
But then a day later coincidentally I got a better (closer to my career goals and skills) job offer from company B.
So I tell the guy from company A that I'd like to cancel the job offer and move on (to company B of course).
Is that illegal? Would company A sue me or something?? (the job contract only says that as an employee, I'd be asked to provide a 2 week notice should at any time I wish to terminate.)

I know this was a stupid mistake and morally wrong so here it goes.
I conducted fraudulent refund transactions to myself totaling close to $400 on my cash register. I used the money to pay for rent and my tuition at school.i was desperate for i was afraid i wasn't gonna make it financially. Well over a month later a rep from loss prevention confronted me in my boss's office with evidence and logs of all the transactions. i could not help but admit my guilt..telling him everything from how i did it to what i used the money for. I agreed to pay back all the money i stole.
A few days later i came into my boss's office and he told me that b/c of my cooperation, HEB will not file charges against me, but they have no choice but to term. my employment. He also said HEB can never tell a potential employer why i left, only when i worked there. My quests: 1. Will this be on my record and for how long, 2. How hard is it to get another job after something like this, 3. Words of wisdom i could use?
