i spoke to a man last night who said if you claim incapacity benefit and work part time you can be interviewed under caution he said his wife worked 10 hours a week and had to be interviewed she told them she had this work but they still interviewed her, they stopped her benefit and taped the interview she was not being watched and they did not ask her employer
i looked into this and it does say you can work under 16 hours a week and still get benefit
she said she was not doing anything wrong and was not a benefit fraud
another lady told me that she may have to pay back 1 pound a week as she was not allowed to do permitted work but was told she could do this work rather than go on to income support

what really happens in a interview and can they make you pay back the money if you only have a small income
and how do they find all these things out

You have to be careful about working whilst on Incapacity Benefit. Of course you must inform the benefit people, but more important is to get a doctor's note before starting it. If a doctor states that the person is still not capable of significant work, but would find this role of 'therapeutic value' then there is more chance that the JobCentrePlus will be OK with it.
Even then the entitlement to benefit could be challenged if they feel this means the person is now capable of work.
My advice is that no-one should commence working whilst on Incapacity Benefits without first having gained a doctor's note and secondly having gained assurance from the JobCentrePlus that their benefit will not be affected.

They 'Interview under Caution' if they think you are lying ...

In the case of his wife they must have had some reason = they are not allowed to pick on people randomly .. she should ask what reason they have for suspecting her ...

Chances are they will say 'information has been received' .. i.e. some jealous 'friend', work-colleague or neighbour has rung up the 'fraud hot line' and told them lies to get at her (or you) for some reason ..
