Im going to a Gap interview tomorrow for a retail sales position. I don't have any khaki or black pants. I know that if I get the job I wont be allowed to wear sneakers and will have to dress in Gap or no brand clothing... so if I get the job I'll go shopping for some gap apparel. But would it be alright if I wore jeans with white sneakers and a white t shirt ? I only own sneakers.

& 3 of us r PA to 1 manager each. Job was made 6 mths ago & we were offered a set amount of money all receiving the same £. The previous person to do this role looked after all 3 managers herself, when she left it was decided to share each manager between us & split her salary in 3. Not all 3 of us are full time, 2 are, 1 isn't and cos she's p/time (18 hours), she has been allocated the manager who requires the least amount of work. The 2 of us who've more demanding roles r doing twice the work & cover her when she's not here plus she's always passing her work to our manager. We think it's really unfair that she's receiving the same amount. She even said herself she expected it to be done pro rata. HR reply is this role is a 12 hour allocation per wk, we do this but the other person can't possibly dedicate 12 hours to her manager & her manager doesn't require 12 hours a wk & she can't complete tasks. HR said it's a third of our job role which is fair to us but not realistic for her....

h resumes. I mean qualified people too. No wonder no one ever calls anyone back or let's each and every person know that they might have filled the position.

I am not trying to get info of course, I just wanted to see what type of qualified people would respond and OMG, I have received atleast 50 in less than 6 hours.

No wonder I cannot find a job. Sheesh. it is an employers market right now and they can hire the cheapest person with excellent skills.

I have decided to come down off my $40,000 and ask for $28,000 so I can pay the rent. LOL

Just thought I would share with all of you out there that are thinking of leaving your current hell hole or are currently wondering why you are not getting hired like me.

I refuse to work for another daycare center fulltime to only make $5 and hour and im definately not working for a grocery store again for the same thing. Which seems to be the only places that hires people who only have a high school diploma. So i need suggestions on where to find a fulltime job in the richmond, va area.

I got a call for an interview with AFLAC (Insurance company) for the position of "Accounts Manager." I usually wear black shoes, black dress shoes, and a nice long sleeve collared shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up, tucked in with a nice black belt. I'm never sure if I'm underdressed or overdressed for all of the interviews I go to. In my opinion, I think my attire is probably right there in the middle. Can anyone suggest something better to wear?

On another note, my face, neck, and chest get red sporatic splotches on them when I talk to people that I don't know, or when I'm the center of attention. It's kind of like blushing, except its random on my face and neck. I can only imagine what employers are thinking when I'm turning red like this during an interview. I'm not sure how to mask this effect or even tell them for their understand.

Thanks for the help.

they say it's the "kiss of death" job, everyone that has had it before has gotten fired, I want to move up in my company, but do I want to risk my job. The position I have now is pretty low key and with the promotion, I'm got to be out there dealing with customers, sales people, co-workers and the President and Vice President of the company. I have to give them an answer today and I just don't know what to do...HELP!!!

I got an offer for 20% more than my income now, and I def need the money bad, but the thing is, I'm comfortable here and I really don't want to leave. I suppose to get a raise in 2 weeks but they won't tell me what for. The max at my job is 3-5% and that's only 2000 more than what I'm making now. I spoke to HR the other day and the only thing she told me is that my raise is a lil under 5000. What the hell does that mean? A little under 5000 means that I would have gotten a 10% raise, and I know that's not the case. Is she lying just so I can stay. If they do give me 10%, I would be willing to stay, but they can't disclose my increase. I would be pissed, if I stayed and I only get 3% which is what I believe I got.

A new super Wal-Mart store is being built right up the street from where I live. They are still in a big construction phase and have not even paved the parking lot yet. They just finished the outside of the store and are about to move on to the inside details. I know it may be like a month or more, but how would I go about getting employed at this particular location, before they even open? How do I get one of those early "set up everything" jobs, and continue on as a worker after that? I'm pretty sure they have an application online at their website, but I doubt it would list a new store being built. Suggestions on how to go about doing this? I was considering wanting to work in the Electronics department. I have lots of experience in sales of consumer electronics of all types, so that should give me quite an edge over someone just applying 'for a job'.

Also, if you have worked for yourself for years how should your job experience be listed? For example, my husband has been a sub contractor for years and has done work for several different construction companies. Should I list all of those in the job history section or simply state he was self employed and use those companies for references? Any advice would be helpful

I am looking for science jobs in research labs, so in most of them there is some level of risk.

I usually ask if there are any relevant safety concerns as one of my end-of-interview questions. I want to know how to approach this without seeming like i'd be a wimp or un-coopertive, or worse yet like i don't know much about OHS.

Mostly it is a "just checking", and a bit of sussing out if we are "on the same level" with outr attitude to work safety, but also if i got two offers and one was a bit dangerous more dangerous it may be a deciding factor.

The main things i am concerned about are Radiation and human tissue (i'm mopst scared of HIV). I would preffer to work with an employer with an overcautious attitude to both. I would not completely rule out a job that involved one of these, i just want to make sure it is very well controled (e.g. no sharps used with un-screaned human tissue).

I usually mention i don't have a radiation licence in an FYI manner.
