and all my references have either moved out of state or died.
What is the best way to handle this with prospective employers and how can I adjust my resume to minimize the damage.

thanks

I am 15...which is the legal working age were I live. But am trying to find a part time job for back to school, and am limiting my options to places like McDonald's just because I know they hire at my age...but I was thinking of applying at places that I have never seen people my age working...because I know I am more talented then the drug addicts working at McDonald's...so can a employer turn me down even though I'm the legal working age?

There is this guy at my new job that really creeps me out. Im 16 and he has to be over 35. I dont know a thing about him and dont care to,but the other day he went by my check stand and gave me this extremely scary stare. i tried not to make eye contact with him,but i kinda looked at the corner of my eye when he was a little further away and he was still staring me down. I went to my lunch and he was walking my way..i thought of turning around and going back but thought it would look obvious so i just walked past him and he said hi and just stared me down until i was out of sight. This has happened a couple of times but after he went by my check stand i just got the chills. Has anyone had this happen to them, and what did you do?

i had signed a letter of employment with my former employer, which states that I will be placed on 3 mths probation, entitled to 2 weeks annual leave, and must give 2 weeks notice when resigning. From common law principles, i understand that when 3 mths is reached, the contract is deemed to be completed, and a new one must be offered. and so as at end of the 3rd mth no notice is necessary since the contract is already completed? Am i right one this point? However the Act states that notice must be given. so which law takes precedence? Also, it states that pro-rated leave is entitled for service of more than 3 mths, which that cheapskate refused to give me. Who can i turn to to get my money back? also, this happened 3 mths ago. do i still have legal entitlement?

I am a writer who writes mostly for non profits but I don't want to limit myself. I have spent most of my career working for non profits but decided to take an new path to begin writing. The type of writing that I have done has been to help further the mission of those organizations whose values I respect. I thought of "social marketing writer" or "social change writer" but I'm not sold on one title yet. Can you help me to put a name on my niche?

Trip has been planned since May, so nothing I can just reschedule. I'm interviewing for jobs, should I tell them at the interview, as I'm offered the position, or after I'm hired? I know its going to look really bad to ask off so quickly after hired.

She started a romance with the assistant nite manager. They must be in love because he quit too. My daughter said they both quit because they were about to be fired. Apparently Walmart has a policy against romance in the work place, and they were forbidden to even be social on the outside much less going out on dates and on trips.
What do you think their chances are of getting new jobs? Would you hire either of them? They both are very smart, but forbidden to engage in a romantic relationship d/t their jobs.

Hey yal I'm only 14 but I turn 15 in December and I really need a job. I need a job so I can pay for a school trip which is very expensive. Please don't tell me to look up under job sites because they don't have listings for 14 year olds to do. Well if anybody knows any jobs that are around El Dorado, Arkansas tell me please.

I am a student with a summer job at a supermarket shelf stacking. I am now in my 4th week there. I am finding the job very stressful, as I'm expected to get through a massive roll pallet alone in 1/2 hour alone (refrigerated products can't be kept out for any longer), deal with any customer questions I get in the meantime, and still have time to rotate the stock.
I am very meticulous about rotating the stock, but I am getting "remember to rotate the stock" every 5 minutes. I of my colleagues, who is training to be a deputy manager is unnecessarily and extremely bossy, and I feel upset about that.
I am also humiliated that the security guard insists on carrying out the routine procedure of security checking staff about twice / week. I have just come in from work and feel very stressed. my contract allows me to quit with a week's notice, but I've got 4 weeks left, and I don't want to feel like a wuss. The money isn't essential, but would be nice to have.

Here's the deal, I just got a new job at a big(ger) law firm. The place I used to work at, I was constantly busy, dealing with clients, answering phones, drafting letters/pleadings/etc. just always busy. I quit that job 1)because of pay and 2)overworked.I finally got a wonderful job with a big(ger) firm than where I worked (6 attorneys,8 paralegals,1 secretary,1 'go-fer' and 1 IT guy(he only comes in once a month). When I came in for the interview, they asked me back for a second interview and then hired me on the spot.I really enjoy working here, and I like everybody(and I think they all like me),however, some days I'm here and I have nothing to do.I try to find things to do(clean my work space, file things, help out with making copies, sending the mail out, etc.)but I usually end up sitting and websurfing within 3 hours.I feel like a lazy employee and believe me,I'm not. So,what do you guys think?Could they fire me?Its not my fault,& when I have work,I get it done quickly & correctly.

In June I went on an interview. They said i'll be getting the job by July 2. Then they said it is going to be delayed until July 9. Then they said it will be delayed for another 2 weeks. Every time I call them, they keep saying they will give me the answer the next day. Now they are completely ignoring my calls.

The excuse they keep giving as to the reason I am not getting the job: because of background checks to their own company by the company that I am supposed to be working with.

Whenever I ask them, is the job still there? Am I definitely getting the job? They say, yes, the job is definitely there. I said, am I going to get it before September when my school starts, and they say yes. But they keep delaying it, that was okay. But now they completely ignore my calls. Because I call them, they don't pick up, but I call from a different phone and they they pick up.

Can I sue them for loss of income? Thanks.

Hello, I have an interview with a government agency in the area of security on Monday. I don't really know what to expect or wear! I was thinking about wearing a suit dress or should I wear a pantsuit? Do you know what the interview may be like? Maybe what questions to be ready to answer? I really want/need this job so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!

I have had 2 interviews already and have 2 more to go. I need a job right now. Because I am in need of a position fast I am tempted to take the first job offer, whichever it may be. I feel very confident I have a good chance of getting one of the positions I have interviewed for but one of the upcoming would be good too. The last of the 4 is low paying. I really don't want to accept the low paying position because I am desperate for something now and a few days later get a call from one of the others offering a job. What is a appropriate amount of time to leave before accepting. I don't want to wait too long hoping on the others to call.....
