i'm 17 n still studying in high school.when i was a kid,i wanted to become a doctor but when i grew up,i realized that there are many other interesting jobs but my parents seriously want me to take medical course.i'm worried coz most people said that life as a doctor is so busy you hardly get enough time to spend with your family.as i'm a very carefree person i'm afraid i'll regret later.so can anyone tell me about life as a doctor(e.g.work schedule)?especially paediatrician(preferably someone with experience).recently,i did a career test n the result showed that i'm more interested in food industry area, therefore my counsellor suggested me to take food science course.can anyone who have experience taking this course or working in related area tell me what it is all about??i'm really confused right now.1 thing that i know,i really enjoy cooking n baking n one day i hope to own a restaurant or bakery, which i know my parents will never approve

I know this is long but please read it because I really need some advice.

Ok so, Im a sophomore in high school and ive been thinking about what I want to do with my life. I'm torn between being a psychologist and a high school art teacher. At first I thought psychology, butI want to go into private practice, and I was thinking about how it's not necessarily promised that you're going to develop your own successful business and get it out there. So I switched to high school art teacher, because you can definitely get a job. But now I'm torn again because psychology and art are my two greatest passions, and I don't just want to leave psychology. I don't know what to do. I also don't want to go for the extra years of schooling that psychologists have to go through, how long do they have to go to school for anyway? So yeah, my dad suggested becomming an art teacher, and then the school will pay for me to pursue further schooling with psychology. So, idk, please help?

I started as a temp last year and they extended my contract - now they want me permenantly. A steady job and pay is always good (especially two years after graduating uni!) and i live 5 mins away which is amazing as i don't have travelling expenses but its so tiresome and a lot of people i work with are so moronic they cant even use a fax by themselves - they are ALL senior to me! I constantly get compared to my predecessor who was a total ***** but who everyone loved. There are no staff in my dept. so i do everything - and i mean everything - and get paid less than everyone else. I know everyone hates their jobs but im getting so so down about this. There are so many minuses but pluses too. Would you sign the contract or quit and carry on temping?

I'm doing a report on the magazine industry. I am interested in finding out the average salary of staff writers and freelance writers. Also, I want to know what the outlook is for the field and about publications that welcome first time writers. I've already tried salary.com and those types of websites. IS there any magazine association with this information?

I know if I go into the ultrasound I will make more money but I live with my mom and don't know if I can take it for 2 more years!! Please help what do you think??

I work for a lawyer that does adoptions, and some of our clients are awful. Some of the birthmothers have ugly attitudes, are very disrespectful, and just are down right mean. I try to put up with it for my job but sometimes I just want to snap and tell them they have no right to treat me or speak to me the way they do. What do I do? Half the time its great and the other half I just want to quite. My boss is a lost cause in the matter cause he says he'll do something and trys for a day and thats it.

In one of the staffing agencies that I am registered with, I didn't hear from her since January of this year. But the last project I did, I didn't finish the project. It was for 3 days, but the client told me that she no longer needed my "help". In the other agencies I am registered with, once they send the temps on an assignment, and the project goes longer then what the staffing agency tells the temps, the temps stay longer. For example, lets say it is a filing project for a week, but the week is over and the temps that worked at the company didn't finish, they are suppose to stay until it is finished. So, is that a terrible sign since I didn't finish the project because the client told me that my services are no longer needed?

A hard working individual. My husband and I are trying to get back on our feet but I feel I need to be at home with my daughter. If you have any info, it would DEFINITELY be helpful!!! I recently just found a job that was TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. It was a Scam through Alibab.com and Graphypro.com, they would send me money, I depsoited it and then would have to wire it. THANK GOD my bank put a hold on all those checks- all the accounts were closed!!!!!!!!!! Beware of those scams!!!!!

I’m an internal process/improvement researcher and I also implement new change. When change is completed I post to an internal website.

When other managers/supervisors from other departments email and ask tons of questions and I answer in great lengths. A lot of their emails are complaining emails however, I have senior leadership I take direction from. Should that person send an email back saying, Thank You!?

I’m highly offended when I spend such great detail and time without a Thank You!

I look professional in suits, shirts and especially when I straighten my long hair. My hair is naturally wavy so it is a high maintenance for the look. How can I look still professional with casual wear (Fridays - dress down days)? Some people look so pro with jeans but I don't. Any tips? I am an IT consultant by the way if that helps.

I graduated last year with a BA in accounting. I live in an area where looking for jobs is pretty dismal. I am thinking of moving closer to the Raleigh, NC area to look for work in the RTP. The biggest problem is that I have the education qualifications with little or no job experience. I worked in retail for almost 10 years but only part time to get through college. Where should I look for employment and how do I build a network of contacts since I will be new to the area?
