My husband and I want to move about an hour and a half south of where we are. Can anyone give me input/ideas/advice about him finding a new job, and us buying a house? He is an autobody painter; been in the business for 12 years. Thanks so much.

i have 15 years military service, 18 years professional doorman, and 3 years as a bouncer. i am now unemployed and looking for work in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran or States, i am a comitted and capable person who is willing to work for the experience. this is not a fly by night job for me as its something i have always wanted to do, but never had the time. now i have the time but dont have the finances. the average PBA (Professional Bodyguard Association) licence cost around £3500, that includes firearms training, but does not include body armour and extras like uniforms and different dree types for different occasions. i would be prepared to work off this money for whoever is prepared to give this chance.

next couple of months. My adjustment probably won't be as much as my potential offer. Also, my adjustment is not guaranteed. Do I stay at my current company where I have been for 12 years, or do I take a chance and move. Keep in mind that if I move I will be in the middle of my pay range, where as if I stay I will probably be at the bottom of my range. The only things I don't like about my current employers is compensation, limited growth opportunities, and the political aspects. Also, should I approach them and explain the situation? Everything else is great. Please advise with views and reasons.

Employee was suspended for insubordination (lucky for them not terminated) and they feel they should be paid for at least four hours on that day. we run a small company in California and I dont believe this is true. i mean how does one believe they should be paid for getting suspended. if it is true all employees will want to get in trouble.

I keep getting discriminated against because everyone only seems to hire women for this position. I am a qualified 28 year old male and don't even get call backs, which I'm assuming because I'm a guy. I get weird looks in person like "why are YOU applying for this?" It's just annoying because they act like guys can't do these jobs. I'm just as qualified, organized, detailed, all that....I'm also gay, though I don't come across as being gay at all. Should I try to be more gay acting? Would this help me land a job?

I graduated last yr and started my first job in September. I don't like my job too much and it is not related to what I studied in school and I have to work long hours and I am underpaid. I want to leave this job and get a better paying job in the field that I have my degree in. The problem is that I am getting married next year and will have to move to where my fiance is, he is a med student and will not know where his residency is until later on. If I leave this job soon, I will most likely be at my next job for even less time. Should I still grin and bear it at this job until next year or should I start looking for another job.

I have been on job seekers for 3 weeks and have been offered a job last friday and have decided to take it.

My problem is that I obviously need help with the first months travel expenses as I have no money! I havent even had my first payment from the job centre yet! I asked in the job centre if i can get help with this and they have said no because I havent been on J.S's long enough (personally i think i should be rewarded for only being on it for 3 weeks, not 3 years!) and I dont think i should ask my new employer for an advance due to the fact they are giving me the wages i wanted even though they didnt want to pay out that much!

I was wondering if anyone knew any organization that will help me out with these costs. Even if it is just a loan. I start next monday so it would need to be something that went through pretty quickly also.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. x

I love research: reading, interviewing people, writing, figuring things out, using my brain.

I want to get lots of money, so I'm not into market research for pennies. I'm not yet qualified for academic research, but I guess if the job is interesting enough I may eventually be.

I'm a writing looking for a steady income, something to fall back on when I get writer's block.

I recently got hired as a SEO Coordinator. It is a brand new position and so no one, not even the Director of Internet marketing has any rules what to do.

My immediate supervisor is a Paid Search manager. She doesn't have much idea either what I should be doing.

So basically I feel like an independent consultant hired to get the SEO projects up and running.

In this case, I manage myself, except the HR issues which are managed by my immediate supervisor.

So the question is, what is the best way to demonstrate my project management skills? Should I:

1. Set up a log sheet showing projects I will be working each day
2. Or, just forget about it so I can have more freedom to work on projects I want?

Ok, I am on the volunteer fire department in my town. I am the only woman on the department so I know I have to put up with a certain amount of flirting etc. But it has got to where everytime I go to the fire department there is a group of guys that is either already there or comes up there and they are really vulgar. They actually humiliate me in the name of teasing. I know boys will be boys and guys in their late teens early twentys mostly think of sex. But shouldn't they respect me and be able to carry on a decent conversation with me? What can I do or say to make them treat me with respect?

Every thing i have tried to make it better, they only think it is funny and continue. They say I am fun to make fun of.

If there are any career counselors or Civil Engineers that know the field very well, I was wondering if you could answer my question. I want to know how far you can take your BS without any lisences afterwards? I would assume there has to be areas in the field where the basic engineering experience can play a role in different fields than just looking at project designs.

So I guess what I'm looking for are different positions that are out there for someone with a BS in civil engineering and how to get started in them and how to find out about them.
Thanks!

parenthood is another option - but how many can afford not to work at all??

what other careers would an OT be qualified to do?

There is one in Alabama that I believe wrongfully terminated over 20 people in less than a year. I think everyone should get together and file a lawsuit. As far as I can tell it is not the fault of the company but of the mismanagement. Please tell me if you know of a wrongful termination or doctored time sheets from a place that fits the above description.
