know this in the past but why on earth were teachers picking on you. they are (supposed to be) adults. they are supposed to be professionals. they are there to teach you, educate you guide you and help you build the foundation for your future. didn't anyone at the very least your parents/carers think it necessary to report them to the education board?

firstly what kind of jobs are you applying for? do you meet the minimum requirements for these positions? if you do and are still having no luck have you tried jobs where they are willing to train you.

if that still isn't working then maybe what you should do is (it's not as bad as it sounds) get a job say mcdonald's and study when you are not on shift. that way you will get a job related reference and gcse in one shot. once you've completed your gcse's then consider would you like to train to do a higher position where you currently are or would you now like to venture out and look for a new job with your new qualifications

i say go back and get those gcse's because succeeding will give you a whole new degree of confidence because you have accomplished something valuable and that will help you when you look for new jobs

good luck

Get into college and develop your skills as others have mentioned. It might be that you haven't got a job because your lack of skills such as communication, presentation etc is not so good. Even when you do join college you will notice a big change in your knowledge in many areas of your life.
You could even do a part time course, which will give you time to have a job too. The best thing to do is go to your local connexions centre and explain your situation, they are very good at this and they will direct you to the people who will eventually help you gain skills most jobs would like you to have. Good luck

NO. someone will give you a break somewhere along the line. I left school at 16 with very poor exam results and didn't really know what i wanted to do. I'm a lorry driver now which i love as its all most like being my own boss. I earn 22k a year which is quite good for what i do. I work a 4 day week and do approx 42 hours a week.

so don't worry something will come along soon and things have a habit of falling into place.
good luck.

Hi Princess I'm 29 now but when i was your age i had the exact same problem. I felt the education system was against me, therefore I wanted to get a job earn loads of cash forget about study . But trust me you will regret it later on in life havin no quals. I'm studying part time at the mo to better myself and when you see all your mates study free and have the jobs they want just makes you feel sick. So trust me Princess and do a little more study at your local Tech. college cause you have a lifetime in front of you to work as much as you want with an easier feelin of gettin a job than you are able to at the moment. Good Luck and keep the chin up.

Yeah - shame no-one told you before or perhaps you didn't believe them ?

Why should anyone ring you back ? You think maybe the world owes you a living ? Employers are going to beg you to work for them ?

Get real - there are hundreds of highly educated ex-Soviet workers chasing after every job going.

Check out you local College for evening classes and get some qualifications - start with English GCSE.

In the meanwhile, perhaps you should focus on jobs where no qualifications are required - for example, I hear MacDonald's is always looking for staff ..

You could always try going to college and taking a course that will offer you new skills. Decide on area of interest then go for it such as Hairdressing, catering, etc... You can always take your GCSE'S in the evening as well as A-Levels if you feel that your are lacking qualification wise.
Although you don't need a degree to get ahead in life the basic qualifications or skills training will help you out. Try visiting a Job centre and they will advise you on the best course of action.

I did not get a GCE until I was 30.
Get the 'they picked on me chip of your shoulder', it will make you bitter and resentful of everyone.
get a couple of jobs to raise money to pass your driving test and get all sorts of experience.
try not to expect the top job from day 1. Try not to think you know it all. There are loads of College courses that will help you get skills.

There are a few things you could try.
Supermarkets are a good place to start as people who work on the tills do not need any qualifications.
Visit your local connexions centre or see if the Job Centre can help.
Putting your CV on monster.com can attract employers to you.

possibly, have you thought about going to college. If your not very academic why not try something more physical like hairdressing. You could also ask at your local job centre to see if they have any training courses you could go on. Good luck, life will get better

you can join college for free until 18 if you need other qualifications. Lots of shops employ people on what they can do and not on grades.
