I want to quit my job as soon as I possibly can and the work book says. " We would like you to give at least a two-week notice before you leave your job." Does that mean that I HAVE to give them a two week notice or can I just go in hand them my termination form and leave..........forever?

one of my employees is getting married and is moving to another state on the other coast. she is leaving the job in 2 weeks she has now started to come late and becoming inefficient regularly, when asked how should I treat you -she says - write me up. how should i tackle the situation without causing a revolt as the other employees see that this particular employee is taking undue advantage. should the employee be written up/fired or should i just let her enjoy the last two weeks and wait for her to quit?

I have tried ignoring him, but he doesn't stop talking.

And he talks about the dumbest stuff, hunting fishing, his epic adventures at the gym.

I am hungover today so it is ten times worse.

Ok here is my situation. I have been working at my current job for about a year. I have a colleague that calls in sick on average about 5 times a month. In addition to calling in sick he also has jury duty, dr appts, dentist appointment, his kids are sick, his dog is sick, his sitter is sick. Come on! I tried to be sensitive at first. Maybe he has some fatal disease etc. But his excuses vary. I reached my breaking point when he schedules a dr appointment 58 miles away from our office for 11 am ( we live in a large metropolitan area with lots of drs) Comes in at 1:30 pm and then takes a lunch at 2:30 p.m. AND then leaves around 6 and tells me he is coming in late the next day because he had to work late. HELLO you came in at 1:30 p.m. (and yes this is a 9 to 5 job). He is just the utter slacker and noone seems to care. Any advice thoughts? Why is he employed? Who tolerates the BS?

You have the option of including or not including a cover letter....do you think it really makes a difference? Or do the hiring people just go straight to the resume?

Hi, Can anyone help?
I'm filling in a job application form and there are 2 empty pages to describe my "motivation" for this job. The job is a personnel administrator (like an HR job).
Can anyone give me some ideas of what to write? or any websites that could help?
The only things i can think of putting would take up half a page at the most!
Thankyou

I am convicted of driving while licence suspended and possesion of parafinella. I have since been clean of durgs since november 2004. I was fighting the charge while in jail but was sent to prison anyway in Jan. 2006. was released in Oct.2006 and been living in a womens transional housing run by the Salvation Army. One of the requirements to stay here is to be employeed. I live in Tampa Florida and am working a case plan in order to get custidy of my 2 daughters restored. Employment is also a requirement of that. All I know is I'm trying my best but it dosent seem to be good enough lately. Any one have any ideas for me?
