I am convicted of driving while licence suspended and possesion of parafinella. I have since been clean of durgs since november 2004. I was fighting the charge while in jail but was sent to prison anyway in Jan. 2006. was released in Oct.2006 and been living in a womens transional housing run by the Salvation Army. One of the requirements to stay here is to be employeed. I live in Tampa Florida and am working a case plan in order to get custidy of my 2 daughters restored. Employment is also a requirement of that. All I know is I'm trying my best but it dosent seem to be good enough lately. Any one have any ideas for me?

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've always thought it was awful when employers don't believe in giving people second chances. Unfortuantely, this is due to the "one bad apple" senerio. Employers don't like hiring people who could possibly end up making them look bad. I don't agree with this, but that's how it is I guess.

You're really in a ruff spot, you can't lie about it or you risk getting caught and then fired. My suggestion would be to start at the bottom - go to places like fast food restaurants and retail. Ask if you can talk to the manager when you drop of your application. Be upfront and honest with them and tell them that you've changed and why (your kids). Offer a trial period - 30 to 90 days and if you're not doing a good job, you'll leave no questions asked. Let them know you're just looking for a chance to rebuild your life. As time goes by, you can continue looking for a better job and you'll have this employer as a reference to back up that you've been clean and what kind of worker you are.

Good luck with the job and getting your kids back.

save working at it and you will detect a job! i understand that's hard yet save at it. First attempt to place your self in the employers shoes and think of touching directly to the justifications he does no longer want to hire you (you will possibly no longer agree yet your opinion would not count selection right here) and then have solid solutions to those fears. I sell a lot in my interest and between the tricks I even have discovered is to lift the biggest objection my client has till now he does. It makes it appear like much less of an argument and that they sense greater valuable that I even have theory in the direction of the priority for them. You do the comparable. stable success.

Have you talked to the people at the Salvation Army? They might offer assistance to help you find employment. You can also visit your local state-run unemployment office for help. They will have career counselors who should be able to help you locate suitable employment. They might also offer free training/classes, if not they can direct you on how you can get addition training.

Hard lesson learned. I thought everybody was aware that a convicted felon is eliminated from most jobs. Too many fish in the sea and employers will go with those with clean records instead...and obviously so if you think about it....because they can follow the rules....or so it's assumed.

Service industry jobs might be your best bet. They might not pay as high as office jobs but there is less red tape about them. I think restaurant work is the easiest to get.

Crime leads to crime. You have to increase your criminal activity, but this time DON´T GET CAUGHT ! You don´t need a job to survive you need skills on how not to get caught. Keep your mouth shut and go it alone. That´s your problem you´ve been too dependent on the system. If you fail to plan you plan to fail. Now grab your N**s and do for yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*************
