I'd say CNA. They are more specialized and in many cases perform all of the duties that a MD would perform.

Edit: My mistake. I thought you meant a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist which is a CRNA. I believe a CNA is a Certified Nurse Assistant. In that case I think a medical assistant is preferred.

Definitely cna is better if you like to wipe sick people butts and empty their bedpans, or i should say don't mind doing that as well as moving immobile patients do clean their anus for the lowest pay..
On the other hand Medical assistant does take temperature Log in a persons vitals etc and do office work. Either way your on the lowest end of the totem pole and do everything that needs to be done that no one else wants to do

But get paid the less because your on the Low end of the totem pole I would suggest X ray tech , dental assisting
or surgical tech training, or Ultrasoundthe latter two haavong the highest pay, where the other two including the ones you spoke of have glass ceilings

Gosh, I dont mean to be rude but If you are looking for a career to pursue, why would you pick either one of them.
So one makes $8.00 per hour and the other makes $9.00. If you want a job in the medical field sure you have to start somewhere but why not use education to your advantage so that you can start someplace in the middle.
From what I have seen, Cna's have a very high turnover rate so you would probably find more happiness as a medical assistant! Which ever one you pick, pick it with the idea that you will go back to school and find a career that pays more

Medical Assistant you work in a doctors office and are the goofer for a doctor.

CNA most work in nursing homes and extended care facilities in a hospital washing, feeding, changing beds and cleaning up the patients, taking vital signs.

If I had my choice I would prefer to be a medical assistant.
