Careers & Employment - January 2007

If I was wrongfully terminated because another employee wanted my job, should I tell corporate some other instances that happened with the other employee that were never brought up? I don't want to be a bit** but I don't feel it's fair that I get fired for a little thing and everyone else gets away with these major offenses which were just looked over or not reported as they should have been. Like the employee who is having me fired..was selling adult toys in the backroom of the store! Or, an "elderly"employee who was assulted by a customer that was never reported to corporate, just shrugged off. I could go on. I feel singled out and although I'm not a very vindictive person, I want some sort of "personal" compensation for losing a job that I worked really hard at and was at for a long time. I don't mind losing the job...there are others but the reason for it is just wrong. Would you tell the corporate office or let it slide?

I have no certificate of 3ds max, Flash and Maya. I am a Graphics Designer in Indore, India. and Working in Corel and Photoshop, Illustrator and have a better practical experience. But I also know a 3ds max, Flash and Maya. I have no practical experience in it. How could I make a career in it without certification. I can't afford a certification fees of institute or school. is there someone just like me, who have solve this problem. Please Help. How could I can be a best in 2d and 3d animation softwares. If someone know a way for it, please show me a way.

am 21 i'll be 22 in a couple of months i feel so lost i have been out of high school for almost 3 years i've done a year of city year and worked 2 years i am thinking about going to college but feel that i am too old to be starting college i sould be in my 3 or 4 year will it be weird because of my age will it be differant because of my age i also have a felony for robbery when i was 18 and feel i wont get a good job i am very worry about getting a job with a felony

I did some research on this but most sources say things like: "it's all about being able to market your degree" and "there's many jobs one can get".

That can be said about all degrees, but realistically what can one hope for with such a degree? Like is there any job where I can present my resume, and have a good chance of getting a job?

If the cold hard truth is that I cant expect to find anything better than someone with a GED than say so. I appreciate honesty.

I currently live in Shreveport, Louisiana. But I wanna move to Houston, Texas before I graduate. Graduation is in December, but I'll be certified, as a Pharmacy Tech, this summer. Well it starts off as.. I gave up a awsome job I had at Lowes I was about to move up in the company when my father called me to tell me he has stage 4 lung cancer and asked if I would move back home to help him take care of my mom that has alot of health problems so I did.. less then a year later I ment the man of my dreams online we ment in person got married I moved to the Netherlands to be with im HATED it there Im back trying to get a job to help him move over I cant seem to find a job here that wants to pay much Im running out of out idea's I was thinking about going back to school but I worry about that too... I dont have any college background... so I feel all I have is cashiering.. and I want more... I want something I make money. and help my husband get over here sooner.. I've been working at a factory for a month and I work with a lot of men. I sort of became friends with one of the guys that is 20 years older then me but strictly just friends at work. He's married and has a kid so I don't take it passed work. He has started to say things to me such as I will miss you, and he's even asked me out to dinner on a few occasions. I have told him no. Then I confronted him through texting and told him that if he is telling me these things not as a friend then there is a problem. He finally spilled out to me that he is falling for me. I told him he's wrong he has a wife and we cant be friends, nemore he needs to lose my number. Then he asked me if its wrong to fall in love even though he loves his wife. I used the excuse im a lesbian to get him off my case. And now hes saying the reason he told me all those things is tofind out himself if I really was lesbian because eople are talkingabout me at work. Should I report this? I think now he will tell everyone.
