Let's say you were a very important piece in the game, and your boss would get really mad if you left to another job. Would you give your two week notice to your boss over the phone? (To give him time to calm down, think about it, and talk a couple of days later with a cold head)

This started happening in the summer. Every time, we all were told it was the LAST time this would ever happen, oh, we are so sorry, ect. and they would refund us the bounce check fees our banks charged.
This week was the last straw as there wasn't ANY money to meet payroll.
While I am certainly looking for another job, I am wondering if I and my co-workers have any legal recourse with these clowns? Most of us are now in trouble with our banks for these bounced paychecks as they are now causing our own checks to bounce.

I just switched my major. Now I am going for a B.S. in Urban Studies, Concentration in Gerontology and Health & Human Services, with a minor in Business. What type of job do you think I will be able to get when I graduate?

What is a good answer for when they ask...."So what about the job do you think you will like the least?"

I know they are going to ask this question because my friend went to the same interview today that I have tomorrow and he told me. If it helps it is a job as a direct banking sales associate. I dont want to bash sales or say the pressure of selling or anything like that.

what do u do when you have two assistant managers bad mouthed you to the head boss and the head boss writes u a letter regarding your work without hearing your side. I know these manager don't like me and vice versa but I try everyday to be polite and do what I'm told within reason and in my capacity. I like my job and I refuse to quit or be handled any kind of way because they are over me. How do I defend myself? How do u handle them? what should I learn from this? Do u think the head boss like me? What do think he should have done. Do I have rights? What are they regarding this situations? Help me!

I am looking to relocate to North Carolina area, Charlotte or Raleigh. I have been applying online for quite some time but no takers. I will have to have a job as soon as possible. Is it better to move there first then apply or should I just continue to apply online from my current home and hope that there is some intrest eventually?

I am in the middle of my residency and after much deliberation, I have decided to leave medicine for Wall Street. People that I have spoke with feel that consulting would be a good way to transition. I would rather either get my MBA or start low down in one of the major players like Merrill Lynch or Goldman.

I really could use some guidance preferably from a seasoned Ibanker or an MD who has made the switch. Or from someone who knows of an MD who has made the switch.

Thanks in advance.

I work for a company that's busiest time of the year is over xmas and its also the hardest time of the year to get people to work the nature of the business means it runs 24 hours a day 365 days a year my xtmas shifts have only just come out which annoys me as its now the 8th of december and while im only supposed to work either xtmas eve or new years eve i find myself working from 6pm-2am xmas eve and 12pm-8pm new years eve and also working the fri-sat evenings between xmas and new years and ALSO working on new years day, which basicly gives me no life whatsoever!!..Although id obviously like the money im not in desperate need and ive been contemplaying handing my notice in for sometime as i dont have set shifts and never get the shifts i desire.. Ultimately what i wanna know is, is it unfair that i wanna enjoy xmas and not have to work the entirety of it or should i stick it out and look for something new in jan? (ive already quieried my shifts and they cant be changed!!)

I just started a new job about a month ago. There is a 90 day probation period. I'm in customer service, and I'm really starting to think it's not for me. There's so many things to keep straight, like the number of days the guarantees are good for, you're only supposed to speak on the phone for so long (which seems nearly impossible), and I keep asking the supervisor for help because I honestly can't think of what to do.
I study the info all the time, but still feel so confused. Also, we're responsible for convincing a certain percentage of people to keep the products, and I'm meeting it with the most popular product we do, but not with the others.
My new boss told me if I wasn't "fully trained" by this coming Friday they'd have to let me go. I need this job--for six months before this, I was unemployed, and can't afford to be out of work again.
I am despairing about this--I have never been fired from any job, and would be devestated if this happened.
