I have been interviewing for various positions this month. I've had this question (situation) presented to me three times already. Can anybody give me some good examples of how to answer/ respond to this on an interview?

I work in technical support for a telecommunications company in Pennsylvania. Apparently I am well underpaid. Apparently the national average is 40,000.

I'm making 10 an hour.

What should I do to make more money? Is there a way to get more? 10 an hour for a level 1 or 2 tech is not alot at all. kind of sucks :(

im 19, highschool diploma, some college.

My husband is a temp employee at a well known company. They are saying they want to hire him as a permanent employee and that he will recieve full benefits. As a result of him getting full benefits they want to reduce his hourly pay when they do hire him on (by a dollar or more). Has anyone ever heard of this before? I've never run into this situation before. Is this normal?

My boss is a pacer. Sometimes he comes in my office and just paces back and forth while he talks. It drives me nuts! What does your boss do that drives you crazy?

I am about to start a new job, and I really think this is the place I want to make my career. Does anyone have any tips for promoting in the work place? Right now I am working as a clerk, but eventually I would like to obtain my degree in Communications and move into the Public Relations Department. Any tips would be useful, at the work place and in my personal life. Thanks!

I graduated last year with a 2:1 in Psychology which I worked quite hard for!! But I don't really use it and I probably never will! I expect it worked in my favour when I applied for my current job (they were looking for a graduate) but its not like I use it (I work as a recruitment consultant!)

Currently working at a job I was once very excited about and thought it might be the first step towards my future, but there is no work for me in this position and absolutley no sign of a promotion or more responsibility on the way. Planning on quitting soon. Am I crazy to complain about getting payed to do nothing or is it crazy to stay at a job where you accomplish nothing?

I've been in the business for one year. I am a voracious learner. My background as a reference librarian and professional trainer gives me a very generous, empowering spirit I have yet to find in another agent in this business. It's a very selfish place to be and I'm not used to it. My skin in thickening but my desire to learn and grow still persists and the best way for me to do this is by having someone to talk to about things, knowledgably. I've thought about running a "Help Wanted" ad, but want to know your ideas, too first. Thanks!

Still want to claim income because I am unable to maintain a full time wage. However this will mean that I will not be claiming benifits which I need to live off. Can I do both work and claiming, if I am only working part time. I feel I can work a part time job not a full one, but need a full time wage to live off. Can I still claim income support that is shortened down and not totally cut off. And what work is there for a small woman that has been very unemployable due to having panic attacks most days?

let me describe you details. i have a manager above me who to me is not reaching to me in every thing you consider. of course it is just my idea but i meaning he is far from me regarding to experience and competence. he always treat other employes with condescending voice including me and behaving in the way that is totally disgusting. my general managers told to me that, i have to temporary tolerating this outrageous. what would you suggesting me. in recent days i took 7 days leave for this to think more about this. it was cost me to deliver the source code which i worked 7 month on it to this person. please help me to understand better and act accordingly. currently we are working on a single project and he tries to take control of me. and screw up my preformance with his wonderfully damaging orders. my general managers are supporting me. i think the best thing i can do is to directly not to obey what he say and just doing my own work because i have the support of my general manager?

I have a love hate relationship with this man. He is such a pain and is extremely needy. For example, I have to compose all his emails and he doesn't know the basics of operatating a computer to save his life. I was on the job for 1 month and already I was being asked to complete his AR report. I really am trying so hard to respect him, but I can't respect a man that pushes all his work on me. It has gotten so bad that no one contacts him for answers they contact me! He doesn't mind interputing me, especially on payroll days, I have to drop everything. I work hard and I don't think he cares. I thought I would be rewarded for all my hard work when raise time came. That was a joke, I received a $.39 raise. My position use to be two seperate positions and they have combined them into one. I was hired on as receptionist, which should be changed to office manager. Is this the norm are all bosses in the coporate world like this? How do tell him nicely to shove it?
