First and foremost, you must understand that the job market is extremely competitive right now.

Remember, You are not the only one looking for a job.

With this being close to the end of the year, companies are not hiring full force at the moment.

Things may pick up after January or early February.

It is not always the way you look when it comes to finding a job.

Yes your appearance is important, but your experience, education, interpersonal and communication skills play an important part of it all too.

Next take a good look at your resume. Is it too long, does it have the "buzz" words that employers are looking for. Try this trick, read your resume from top to bottom. Does it take longer than 30 seconds to read. This is the amount of time employers may take to glance at a resume.

Is your resume tailored to the job description for the job you are seeking? If not you may want to consider doing this.

Hope this info helps.

Best of luck in your job search.

God Bless...

You take a computer to a business interview? You do not say what field you are in, but in most fields that is not necessary. Perhaps you are trying too hard. I did that for the longest time. It's a hard habit to break. Are you seeking work through an employment agency? Maybe they can have a chat with you and give you a few pointers.

Another issue is that the economy is a bit fluid right now. Employers are always looking, but not always keen to commit.

Hiring in the month of December really does slow down, because companies are more worried about end of the year project, holiday parties and vacations then they are about hiring. The best thing you can do, is get your resume out there, try to make some contacts and follow up on them in January. Typically Jan. is a very busy month to hire.

Good luck!

Be specific -as much as you can!
Do not wait for them to see the light in you
propose a project that could help the company and that you are able to handle,
ieven if it is not 100% relevant -it will give them ideas what other things you might be able to do
