I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do, but I'm working toward becoming a high school language arts teacher (currently I do school administrative work and teach piano and choir).

I have already made one change in careers, and I am planning on another small change soon. I was a restaurant shift manager for a little more than seven years. I am now an EMT working for a small fire & ambulance company. I will be starting school soon to become a nurse.

I would just like a job that keeps me busier. I work in an office and I don't have enough work to fill the entire day. Days can be very long sometimes. I have a great working relationship with my boss but he really doesn't need me on a full-time basis. There are others here in the same boat but they like sitting with nothing to do. I feel more energized when I have work to keep me busy all day long. My brain turns to mush when it's slow (which is most of the time). HR turns a blind eye to the situation because as long as the bosses are happy, they won't do anything. If the bosses become unhappy, that's when HR wakes up. My suggestion would be to not get into office work. Do something creative like you're doing now. Good luck.
