I have a love hate relationship with this man. He is such a pain and is extremely needy. For example, I have to compose all his emails and he doesn't know the basics of operatating a computer to save his life. I was on the job for 1 month and already I was being asked to complete his AR report. I really am trying so hard to respect him, but I can't respect a man that pushes all his work on me. It has gotten so bad that no one contacts him for answers they contact me! He doesn't mind interputing me, especially on payroll days, I have to drop everything. I work hard and I don't think he cares. I thought I would be rewarded for all my hard work when raise time came. That was a joke, I received a $.39 raise. My position use to be two seperate positions and they have combined them into one. I was hired on as receptionist, which should be changed to office manager. Is this the norm are all bosses in the coporate world like this? How do tell him nicely to shove it?

Begin by bringing to his attention that you have saved the company X$ by his combining two jobs. Remind him what it is that you are required to do as a result of this. Then remind him that you are earning y$ per hour and seem to be doing a lot of the work that an office manager would normally do. Tell him that you really need a raise because you want to stay where you are! All corporate positions are NOT like that. I hope that you are able to work things out without having to leave. You sound like a sharp young person! Have a great holiday.

I feel for you! Been there done that! You need to take all of those skills you've learned and put them on a resumee. After all how great does it sound that you have handled all those responsibilities. Find another job, then you have the option to tell your boss that he must meet or beat the other offer to you or you're outta there. After all you do kinda have his goodies in a vice, chances are he'll give you what you want, and if not you're outta there. Good Luck

I do not know why so many people are afraid to talk to their boss. I understand the fear of losing your job but if you are so miserable, would it be that bad?

Go into his office, ask if he has a few minutes to talk - if he says yes, close the dorr and tell him what you think and feel. If he says no, try again later.

You need to get this out in the open otherwise the hate and/or resentment will continue to grow.

Take all this experience you are getting, put together a great resume and start shopping for a new job. When the time comes tell that asshole thanks for the time and effort he put into developing you as an employee but, shove it!
