for the last 3 months, i've had 3 jobs (waitressing)

1st job (in august) i quitted cause the hours were insane (6 pm-3 in the morning) and we are NOT allowed to sit down unless we have permission, which i thought was rediculous--so that job lasted A DAY (i was only in training too) =0X

2nd job (got it in sept) is where i currently work @. but they only schedule me ONE-TWO days a week working 4pm-10 pm, and i never make over $30! i don't think i can live off of $30 a week. i ask for more hours, but they don't have any more hours for me.

3rd job (i got in october) is where i currently work at too. i cocktail waitress friday-saturday nights from (8pm-3 am) the boss is a bit more laid back. she doesn't have her eyes on me every minute of the day since she's always busy. so i don't mind that job--cause all i do is socialize with people who buy drinks from me.

BUT the thing is, i want MORE hours..ATLEAST 40 hours a week. and NEITHER of those places i currently work at can give.

My boyfriend and I are in our 20's and currently live in Kansas. We're wanting to move somewhere "exciting" while we're still young. We like warm weather and being outside. We'd like a place where the cost of living is somewhat reasonable. The more things there are to do, the better. I am in marketing, and he is a student, so there would need to be a university near by. Any suggestions?

I'm just wondering if there are other people out there like myself who keep changing their mind a lot about what they want to be as far as a career or occupation. How about you? How many different things have you thought you might want to be? What were they? (If you're open to sharing)

For me I've wanted to be (since I was young):

a dancer
an actress or director
a writer
a pilot

and more recently:

a chef or cake decorator
a makeup artist
a therapist
a Hypnotherapist (which I am)
a massage therapist
a nutritionist
a screenwriter (which I'm pursuing)

i know i want to work with animals but i dont want to be a vet. i thought about maybe grooming but i want to do something that pays really good too. my question is what other careers are out there that allows you to work with animals? i always wanted to be one those people on the animal channels that take in rescued and injured baby cubs and monkeys, take care of them and then give them to the zoos, but i was told thats not a real job. so i eventually want to be able to open up some sort of daycare or rec center just for animals but as of right now i dont have the resources for that. well im thinking about going to school and dont know what i should take up, help please.? anyone have any ideas?

What would you do if you know that you will be fired for something that you didn't do?

2006-11-02 05:51:57 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous

I got fired the other day. My boss claimed I did something. I did not do it. I have witnesses but only family ones.

I am going to Georgia Department of Labor today. I only worked there 1 day short of 3 months.

I am very angry that I got fired, but for someone thing I did not do really pisses me off

i started at a new job about 2 mos ago. the woman who is suppose to be training me is a bully and very rude. she wont answer half of my questions correctly and leaves a lot of information out. because of her bulliness i had a few meetings with her that got me no where and finally went to the office manager, which also got me nowhere except more problems with the bully. she is now taking every bit of my work to the o.m. and they are scrutinizing it. yet when the bully makes major mistakes nothing seems to happen. they give her the chance to correct hers. she has literally made me feel like i am having a nervous breakdown. iam sick, have diar. ii feels like i dont even know how to do my work properly anymorebecause im going to make a mistake and get fired. iam not new in this field but when i make a suggestion about our process it is shot down like im a dummy. icant take it anymore but i need a job to support myself. please help. is it legal to secretly tape her..

I'm applying for my first part time job, and I don't know what to put under the "Previous Employment" section. I don't have any! Should I just leave it blank, should I include volunteer work (and if so, how?) or what else? Thanks!
