I got fired the other day. My boss claimed I did something. I did not do it. I have witnesses but only family ones.

I am going to Georgia Department of Labor today. I only worked there 1 day short of 3 months.

I am very angry that I got fired, but for someone thing I did not do really pisses me off

Be careful! Sometimes a future employer may have a section on their applications requesting if you have ever been in or are currently in litigation with a past employer. So you have to answer truthfully. And yes, they can check court records very easily. This may be a negative to even get an interview.

You only worked there 3 months. Just go on and explain you did and you boss did not agree. That's it - one sentence - no detail. And use you family members as references.

I know where I live, 90% of the employee/employer cases are judged in favor of the company. It's hard to sue without tons of proof.

A relative of mine sued their company after retirement. Before leaving, the relative asked for a copy of their employee file. When it got to court, the company had a seperate file that was different from what was given to the relative. Documentation and letters the relative never saw. The case was dismissed.

Good Luck!

Some state employment is “at will” meaning the employer can fire you at anytime for any reason… Many labor groups have been formed in these states to protect workers and many employers make up reasons when they don’t have to..
I’m not sure how Georgia operates and if it is or is not an at will state.

They will make a predetermination of eligibility at the dept of labor office.. When/if you are denied benefit, file an appeal , be detailed and consistent in all you writings of appeal, you are not limited in length, you can add on pages if needed…

If the decision of the hearing officer still denies you benefits you may appeal to the Board of Review… it is time consuming and can take a long time but if you know they were in the wrong its the thing to do… familiarize yourself with the procedure. good luck! ;)

Life can be really unfair and unjust sometimes. It happens to everyone once in a while. You might never see vindication. Try not to put too much effort, energy or time in this. Sometimes the "winning" it just isn't worth all that. Good luck and so sorry you experienced something like this!

I worked at a corporate office a few years back and my boss didnt like me and I got fired too, in fact, 5 other people got fired also. It ends up she got fired from the company too. what goes around comes around, just find another job, dont write them down as a reference, and dont tell the new applications you got fired, just take it up for experiance and be more careful in your next job who to trust.

You know what sucks most, they fired you before you had 90 days employment. Most states have a law stating that if your employed longer than 90 days they have to pay unemployment insurance and have written reasons for firing you. I'm sorry to say, but I think your out of luck.

In most states the first 90 days of employment are a probationary period. You may quit without notice and they may terminate you with no reason.

well if you are not in the wrong you go to the Workman's beru and file the complaint and file a lawsuit and while you wait for the court date you also can get unemployment because your were fired for something you didn't do

that may be an excuse just to get rid of you...less than 90 days..a boss can just walk in and say I don't need you..even if you've done nothing wrong...tough break
