Graduating senior, interviewing for finance position at big computer company..I've alreadly had the 1st interview when they came recruiting at my school and I used a padfolio to hold my extra resumes etc.. But now I am going to their office and I'm pretty sure it is going to be a half day thing and I also want to bring a bottle of water and maybe a granola bar too... I was thinking, can I buy one of those business cases/bags thingys and bring that? Is that professional?

Don't bring you own food or water. Usually they will offer you a beverage. And it's not inappropriate to ask after a period of time answering quesitons. They know your nervous.

Don't eat during an interview. Ever. Eat before you go. Make sure you remove any food particles before entering the building.

They may also take you to lunch and sometimes dinner. Let the interviewer lead that part. Remember if you go to a meal during an interview that they are evaluating you on your social etiquite. Don't order a sloppy joe or anything you have to eat with you hands. Don't order foods that may get on you clothing like spagetti. A meal with chicken breast and a side will be good. Don't talk with you mouth full and use you napkin after each bite. Continue making eye contact when answering questions. Stay away from any "taboo" subjects like religion and politics. A lunch/dinner is meant to relax you, but you are still under the microscope.

I would bring you padfolio with extra copies of your resume as you did before.

I have always asked the person I set the interview with if I need to bring anything and they are happy to offer information. I even ask if there is a dress code. The last interview I was told "DO NOT WEAR A SUIT - WE ARE BUSINESS CASUAL" That was strange, but it was there culture, not mine. So I wore a new dressy polo and new dress pants. The interviewers made a comment that they were happy I did not wear a suit This shows that you can follow directions.

Good Luck! Hope you get the job!

A bottle of water is always acceptable and a granola bar should fit in your pocket (or leave it in your car). As an HR person, I don't like when people bring food an stuff to half day events. To me, if your some where for four hours or less, you should be able focus on what you are doing. It shows restraint and that if you are having a busy morning you don't have to stop for breaks. Once you are there a full day then it is acceptable to bring stuff with you.

You should bring: Your padfolio to hold paper, a pen, extra copies of your resume, a list of references, social security card, and driver's license (few, but some companies will hire you on the spot and ask you to fill out your forms). It is perfectly acceptable to carry a bottle of water (that is a necessity not a luxury). A business case is fine, but you don't need it; if you have to change rooms, ect. you'll be worring where to put it (never put it on the table or desk). Make sure everything is neat and easy to carry.

If it is paintings performed in 2003 and also you did not dossier that 12 months, you want a 1040, a agenda C and a agenda SE - all will have to say 2003 on most sensible. If you filed however simply did not incorporate that revenue, then you want sort 1040X

great question! i used to own an employment agency years ago and i will tell you the same thing i would tell my candidates.

dress for the job you want (as if you already have it) not for the job you have.

yes a brief case thingy (leather is best) that will hold your papers, padfolio, pens, small calculator and water bottle and snack is perfect. you are going to need one for your job anyway so go ahead and make the investment now.

visualize that you already have the job. see yourself sitting in your new office working. think in the present tense as if you already have the job. do this in the morning before you start your day and again before you go to sleep. we create our own destiny

congrats on graduating and good luck in all that you do! the world belongs to you!

if you have any other questions, please feel free to 360 me..
