It depends on where you live, whether you work for a private company or the government, etc.

I would try salary.com--look it up by zip code.

In Los Angeles, in a private company, they were making around 40.

Legal secretaries make more.

Really depends on what part of the country your in. In the Midwest, you could expect to make 30 to 40 K.
