I may be offered a job as an independent versus an employee with all the benefits. So if regular salary was 60k, what percentage should I add for an independent? Thanks. ALL comments appreciated

I started a new job yesterday in a warehouse after being self employed for the last few years.Today I came across a right miserable old git that spoke to me like i was dirt.but he is just another worker like me. I gave him plenty of abuse back and now I think I'm in trouble for shouting and swearing.I have no anger issues and I'm certainly no meathead but I cant abide peolpe like him that think they can speak to people how they like. What sickens me more is the attitudes of other workers who say things like "just ignore him" or "he's not worth it" bullsh1t!! I dont get paid enough money by this company to allow a complete stranger to speak to me with sarcasm and ignorance. I'm worth much more than that.I know I'll be leaving soon but I can afford to. I'm doing this job just to fill time.So how do you deal with these morons?Do you just grin and bear it?Don't you feel sick inside?what do you do about it?

If I turn in my two weeks notice to my employer and they 'let me go' on the spot, shouldn't I still be entitled to that two weeks' worth of pay?

I was asked one on a phone interview. I was a little surprised. What is the best way to approach it? I knew about the company but only from the website so it was difficult to answer.

Is a company (In Maryland) obligated by law to show you your
Work description if you ask for it? Like if you ask your supervisor, or HR person? If not, couldn't they just lie and tell you it's part of your job decription and have you doing all kinds of things your shouldn't be doing?

I know the computer program we use really well and it's used by a lot of different companies. I've been here for 8 months and have 3 months prior experience in the field, plus a lot of other skills.

I work for a nationwide company/corporation (assisted living provider to be specific). I have worked there 8 months. Over this time, I have acquired the maximum amount of write-up's. My next write-up will undoubtedly lead to termination.

I could easily switch jobs but I am in the midst of receiving medical treatment via the company's insurance. I do not know the policy about switching providers in the middle of treatment, so to stay on the safe side, I would just rather stick with the provider I have. However, I do not have the job security that I would like because of these write-ups. If I were to switch to a different location within the company, would my write-ups be transferred as well? Ideally, this is a good option because I can keep my insurance and lose my write-ups.

If you have a better solution to my situation, please feel free to make alternate recommendations.

into a school (online or in person)? Those in the business - what do you recommend? I know it all comes down to portfolio anyway, but if you have ideas and want to crank them out, what would you recommend for a novice? I've downloaded the educational MAYA program from apple as a start.

Have just been promoted at work and am now managing women who a) I used to do the same job as and b) are older than me by 30 years! I used to get on very well with one particular colleugue but now she will only answer me in one word answers when I speak to her. She will chat away to everyone else in the office but will stop talking when I join in. She is being careful not to give me a reason to report her for bullying/harrassment but the atmosphere is AWFUL. What can I do?
