i would say by wearing them unless you come off of work somewhere else right before the interview you are sending a message to the employer that you are already employed in the medical field ...my suggestion is to wear what you would wear to any other interview a nice set of formal wear

Yes...unless your interview is a test of your abilities in the workplace. If you are just being interviewed you should at least wear a shirt and tie.
