Careers & Employment - September 2006

I am wanting to get into a county job, but I am finding it difficult to do so. What are some pointers or ways I can build up my resume? Any input, especially from those of you who are in this type of work, would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

I have been working at my job for two years and was very unhappy my boss constantly yells and belittles me and my fellow staff. anbout two months ago i went to stress leave. i have now found a new job that is will be starting in a few days. i now need to tell my boss that i will not be returning to work. i have to collect my belongings from work aswell. i know my boss is going to get realy mad does any one have any suggestions ?

I work overnight every other thur/fri/sat, and even though I am allowed to sleep, I still dread going! Any ideas on how to make it not such a chore!!!!????

i am 4 month pregnant and need a job very bad ,i apply for job , went on a couple of interview but no one will hire me because im 18 weeks and showing .
the worse part is my husband just get off the millitary ,that's when i found out that i was pregnant and now he is having difficulty to find job .
we are in the norfolk VA area and right now i will do anything like to baby sit , Nanny , caregiver ,just to have an income coming in, .
or is there anyone know about Work from home without paying any cash upfront ?

How long should you work before you get a pay raise? I work 40hrs a week at $9 and hour. I have been working here for 10 months. Is it too soon to ask for a raise? and how much should I ask for? I am constantly being told what a great worker I am, what an asset I am, and how smart I am. What do you think?

I'm an administrative assistant for a small physician office in a hospital. I have been working here for 9 months with a salary of 29K, I do ALL the office administration. Credentialing, profit & loss, filing, letters, I even do other chores like going to office max, costco, and even make personal deposits for the physicians buy chocolates for their wifes, flowers, I even change a pager system from my house at 6:00 a.m.

If I get a pay increase, how much should it be?

i don't mind the docking my pay part its that every 3 xs i have been late i have a valid reason this guy says he went to a game or he went somewhere not related to work nor family and still get paid for his regular work hours.

i just started a job 2 weeks ago...and my boss in never in the office...he gives me orders over the phone and i try to do my best....but i guess its not enough....he always finds mistakes and keeps on saying "its so easy, read the instructions"
the previous person that worked before me left some instructions , but i cant understand them.... when i tell it to him, he keeps on saying "read the instructions" .....the only conversations that we have is only over the phone...i dont think he likes me anyway...ne never compliments me on my job....should i quit????

I'm 20 yrs. old and I don't know what I want to do far as a long term career. I want to own my own business but I have no clue on what that should be. I need a website that can maybe ask me some questions about myself and match my personality to a career that I would enjoy doing on a long term basis.
