Get your stuff ready to go, just in case he explodes and you have to leave immediately. Don't take it personally, it's his problem. Glad to hear you're getting out of the situation. Just go in and tell him you've found an opportunity that really interests you, that you appreciate the experience you were able to get on the job with him, and you wish him and his company the best in the future. (Lie.!!) Don't burn bridges if you can help it. You never know where this boss may end up in your life later on.

Most all states are At Will States meaning that you can leave at anytime without a cause. It also means that you can be terminated at anytime without cause. Go in and tell them that you have decided to terminate your working relationship with the company. That is what they would say to you if you were being fired. If you are leaving then don't worry about what your boss says, if you will need them as a reference for a future job, then a two week notice and a proper resignation would be in order.
Hope this helps, I'm a Human Resources Manager for a large company.

who cares what your boss thinks. He is providing an stressfull job enviroment and you are not putting up with it no more.
You have searched and found a new opportunity that you will like to give a try.
so pick up your stuff and leave. this is america. You are allowed to discontinue your job without a previos notice or specific reason. (Hopefully you are in america because some other countries will have you tortored or shot on sight if you did that. but In america you can do whatever the H*ll you want to do.)
I love this country

See if you can get a friend to collect belongings, send a written resignation. You need not state reasons, include date of last work.

Yes, go in there early, get your stuff. Say goodbye to your friends. Tell your boss you got a better job, hand his a resignation letter and leave.

Go in,give a 1-2 week notice and professionally resign your position. You never know when or where that you might need your old companies resources or networking. Unless you are independently wealthy, don't burn any bridges.....you might need them someday.

You can send them notice or call and they will ship your personal belongings to you at your home. It's the law that you should not be abused at work. If need be, you can contact the security personnel at your office and ask them to escort you in to get your personal things if you'll feel more comfortable. Just focus on the fact that even if your boss is mad and acts like an @sshole, you'll be rid of him/her, so get your stuff and be happy.

Your boss sounds like a domineering jerk... do you work where I do? Anyhoo, when you quit make sure you give two weeks notice (you're a bit past that stage), dont burn any bridges (no name calling no matter how good it will feel), your belongings are yours to do with as you please, take them at your leisure.
