I was assigned to this area here in Tx which I didn't like, so I didn't take it and didn't sign the contract. The company paid for my housing already though, but I didn't spend even an hour in there. Am I liable for something even if I didn't sign anything?

I was reading the news story on yahoo about a girl who got a text message that she was fired.

I don't know what she was fired for...but whether the company was youth-oriented or not, should they have fired her in a more professional manner or not, in your opinion?

My friend and I are seriously trying to get into modeling, but we don't know where to get started. I live near Austin. Are there any places in or around the Austin area that would provide modeling classes, or any other way to become a model? We're 14 if that makes any difference. If so, could someone give me some info please? Thanks.

just wanted to know what everyone would prefer a self business where you have no experience which will pay u less for a year or 2 but has potential to grow very large based on your capability or a very high paying job because you have a top merit rank

I was hired at this office job back in March and soon after being hired I found out I was pregnant. Up until I told them, I had no problems here. They always told me what a great find I was and that I did a great job. Recently, they have been treating me a lot different. My supervisor keeps complaining to me that I’m not doing things right, when I've been doing everything the same as I always have. Do you think they are just trying to find something to fire me for, since they can't fire me for being pregnant? or is it something else?

I’m currently interviewing with a company that is planning to hire me after they finish a background check. As part of the background check they will be contacting all the employers listed in my resume.

Is it okay to warn my former bosses via an email instead of calling them? I have a couple of reasons for emailing instead of calling.

1.I can avoid awkward “catching up on things” conversations
2.I can poise my thoughts better in an email
3.It’s simply easier
4.If I call, I may get voicemail instead of the actual person. I don’t want to have to leave an awkward voicemail message.

On the down side, emailing is less personal and may not leave as good an impression. What do you think? Is emailing acceptable?

I am a very Happy-Go-Lucky person. I'm always positive, smiling and energetic. Unfortunately for me I have an egotistical older gentleman that I work with as well his nit picking, control freak wife and my other co-worker is a moody, snappy girl my age. How do I deal with them? I've been here 6 months the other 3 about 2 years. I love my job/boss/other co-workers but man it really gets me upset the way these 3 people act. I don't look forward to seeing them or if I'm in a good mood they manage to piss me off. Do I leave or stay?
