I have included a link to my yahoo group which has a listing of every website I could find while looking for work myself. There is hope. It could be the method you are using to look. Are you limiting yourself to location? Are you open to taking your skills outside of what you are normally doing? I don't know what your skills are, but I do know that when I was out of work for 9 months, it was heck on my family and me. Just keep a positive attitude (I know this is easier said than done, but it is a must).
The group on yahoo is small because people join, get info, then leave, which is fine, but sharing information with others, building a network of people to share information about jobs, whats out there, even if it is not what you are looking for, because you never know what someone else might see.
I get 90% of my work from networking and 10% or less from job boards. Feel free to contact me and I will see what other things like a resume review I can do to help.
Good Luck

Start your own business. There are plenty of service businesses out there you can start that do not have high start up cost. Check your local paper to see what services are not being offered in your area. I started a cleaning service 3 years ago with just myself, today I have 10 employees and looking to expand again. It just takes hard work (lots of hard work!) the cleaning industry is not pretty but hey it pays the bills and I have time with my family that I have always wanted.

Contact a temp/empolyment agency, or two or three, go in and get on their listings. Tell them what kinds of jobs you'd be interested in or are looking for. In the mean time, go on temp jobs to get experience, money and your name known. Post your resume on job websites like Monster.com. careerbuilder.com or on the website of your local news paper. Make sure your paper resume is spotless and up to date (have some one proofread it for errors and make it one page or less). If you have time and money, update your skills by going to school. Don't give up hope, just keep looking and good luck.

First, never tell people that you want any kind of job.
You want the job that they have to offer.
Second, you do not have a blog and no one could contact you if they wanted to from here.
Evaluate your strengths and target your prospects.
Make your resume specific for the job they have open.
Include 3 references.

1. Search for jobs that match your experience online.
2. Search companies in your area who hire them
3. Go to job search engines, and search by city and career type
4. APPLY to ALL of them
5. Visit the same job seach site thrice a day to apply to the latest jobs added.

try the temp agencies. There are many permanent positions that are garnered out of a temporary employment. You can't afford to be picky, take what is offered and look for something better.
