I've been in this job for 18 months and it's ok. It's not amazing and exciting but it's not a living hell either, just somewhere in between. I get along well with my co-workers, the hours are manageable, cant complain about the pay. My only problem is that my boss is horrible and treats us unfairly and makes unreasonable demands. I know I have it pretty good otherwise but my boss is making me hate this job. Should I start looking around elsewhere and think about quitting?

I'm getting my license this week (assuming I pass). I currently live in RI, where the market sucks right now. But I am really thinking of moving to upper NY. I keep getting mixed reviews 50% of people say "aww the market sucks, you wont make ANY money" the other 50% are like "ohh you can make a ton of money, its such a great field to get into".

I want to do something that allows me to express myself and it pays a decent salary. The problem is that I only have experience doing crappy jobs. I don't know where the good jobs are.

One of my reports received his performance review and he did not take it well. He did not disagree with it , he signed the document and he immediately threw a fit since he is not going to get a raise. He got so upset he was sent home by the company doctor due to his blood pressure. I am not sure my immediate boss will support me. I know this guy met with my boss and my boss has not mentioned anything about it to me . Despite the fact that he deserved his score I can't help feeling uncomfortable and believe he is going to make a huge fuss about this. How do you deal with your own feelings in situations such as these?

In 1 week I am turning 16 and need a job to buy clothes, a car, gas for my car, pay some money for college, buy gifts for family and friends, and other things. Since I'm turning 16, I really need a job to pay for these things, but I don't want it to interfere with my school work. What are good ideas for a job that I can work, that will only be a couple hours after school and 1 day on the weekend? I know I can't be picky with my hours, but I also need to keep up my straight A's and I need to have time for all of my clubs in school. Also, fast food is definitley out of the question because I will absolutely not work there. I put an ad in the paper last week for babysitting and tutoring, but no one has called me. I can't continue to put ads in because they cost too much money which I do not have. Does anyone have any ideas for a job that will still leave me plenty of time to do my homework and other schoolwork, and still give me time to relax with my family and friends?

i'm a single parent of a 5 year old and working during school hours and on a low income. I am cliaming all the benefits i should and want to know if it is worth while going full time?
benefits seem to give you money in one hand and take it away from the other. and sometimes feels like would be better off not working at all but dont want to do that!
If i was to go full time in the job i'm in at the moment i could earn 16000!
Would it be worth while going full time at this salary or look for something better paid? Would i be financially better off or crippled for helping myself?

My till hasnt been coming out right and I'm thinking of finding another job. I'm not too happy about my hours either. I worked 3 6-8 hour shifts in the past 3 days. I'm 16 years old and I don't want a huge job and theres just too much to the job right now for me and its my first job. I currently work at a grocery store and I'm thinking of working at a drug store. Is this a good switch?

i was recently fired from mcdonalds here in michigan. They have been cutting my hours down more and more. they had me at 8 hours one week and 0 the next. (i used to be part time). I go in yesterday and they tell me "well since we don't really need you here that much anymore i guess you can start looking for another job"

so number one.. that constitutes me filing for unemployment, does it not?

also, how do i go about filing for unemployment? do i go to the secretary of state or do i do it online?

and third, it's really out of curiosity, but when i recieve my unemployment check, where does that money come from? mcdonalds, or the agency?

I am a nanny and am looking for a new position starting this fall. I have worked for many families and have 3 written references from my last three employers that really say a lot of good things about me. When someone asks for me to send my resume and references I know they are referring to a list of people who they can call about me, but I have been sending these letters in addition.

Do you think this is too much? I don't want to seem full of myself, but that is the purpose of those letters right? I was considering only sending one of the letters along with my resume.

The reason I ask is because there have been many families who ask for my resume and references and then I never hear from them again. I guess it could be my resume also, though I spent a lot of time on it. If anyone wants to critique my resume that would be welcome as well. Just email me.
