More alternatives than that, please. Do you know how resourceful you really are? Do you ride a bicycle? Do you know how to drive a car? You obviously can use a computer. You seem very frustrated by the way you have put your question to us. You frankly need more choices. More education is such a great gift to give yourself, and if you can possibly do it, DO. But why can't you be looking for a decent job at the same time? This is not exactly multitasking, you know... it is loving yourself and caring for yourself and finding a way to get smarter, be a more interesting person TO YOURSELF, and also make some money. Do you like working with people? What does your knowledge of literature tell you about the value of people to you? Are you isolated in some kind of way? Do you communicate with others easily? Do you happen to like working with people? Where are you? Is it about to turn into autumn and start getting colder as winter approaches? Where is your sense of humour? Do you have at least two confidantes you can spill the beans to about having to decide between two choices when there are probably about fifty of them available? Are you good at gardening? What do you think of pursuing further education with the idea of teaching in either grade school or junior high? What are all your options? Do you like to gamble? How about travel? Do you have a lot of stuff that needs organizing and maybe sell a few things you'll never use again? Do have a personal library at your home? There must be a million choices you could easily make from where you have positioned yourself at this exact moment. Have you a room that needs painting? How about a cellar or attic that needs cleaning out? How about the car - does it need to be tuned up or cleaned on the inside? What are your priorities? Wouldn't you feel good about having that second bachelors? You would be in a matrix or milieu to meet others. My point in asking you all these relentless questions is to get you to treat yourself with infinitely more potential and promise. The trick to getting a bead on an answer that will be right for you right now in your life is to ask yourself what you truly WANT to do. What feels best to you. Because you are going to be living with you for a very long time, and the more you can possibly do for yourself to enhance the quality of your personal life the better your life will be overall. I hope some of my enthusiasm has carried over to you. Sent with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old and ride a 12-speed.)

It's probably alright to get a second degree.I would like to know,if you have a bachelors degree, why don't you have the experience in that field to get a better paying job? There are other people who have to take as you say, crappy jobs at first.Just until they can find the job they are qualified for.But you have you look and look hard to find them.Apply on line to places that offer work in the Field you have your degree in,maybe you Can find something there.

I would define a "crappy job" as one in which you really don't enjoy it. What's your passion? What do you enjoy in life? There's a business tied to what you really like... why not go for it? You land the best jobs by going to the businesses and asking if positions are available... always carry your resume. Not only can a potential employer match a face with your resume, you will be able to make a decision about the firm having seen it.

well there is not alot of demand for Lit Majors. You may have to actually do something that is in demand to make money, or keep with crappy if you just have the need to work to express yourself. Take sales and marketing, you can do both.

If you're going to go back to school, instead of getting a second BA, get your MBA. You'll make a lot more money in a field that want to be in.

Go back to school ya fool. In general English majors don't make much based on their academic focus.

You could score any management gig in hospitality. They pay over 35,000.00 annually. I know that's not a goldmine, but its better than nothing.
If you do go back to college, try doing something practical.
