I owe a creditor.
I didnt know I owed it, closed and charged off in 2005. Just found out about it when they called my cell phone. So I am trying to set up payment arrangements, and they say I have to pay it all off in 30days to avoid it going on my credit........I cannot pay it all in 30 days!
Can they do this? Even if I try to pay it in 3 months, (more manageable), they say it will go on my credit as of Dec.30.....Help.

I live in Kansas and make about 30,000.00 a year and have a 9 month old son. Also my fiancee does not work. Does anyone know how much I can get for claiming my son. Also would I be able to claim my fiancee as a dependent since she does not work? I just don't know much about taxes and want to get back as much as I can this year.

I live in California(not that it matters), and my husband wanted to advertise appliance repair in the Verizon yellow pages. He was working independently, doing house calls, and making repairs.
He called Verizon, and placed an ad in their phone book. The ad was not the way he ordered it, but it was too late to change it since it was already in print. The next year, they renewed the ad subscription(even though we cancelled it), because they say that they have that option.
The problem now is that we owe $2400 to a collection agency(because of non payment obviously), and they want $400 a month. Problem is, we cannot afford an extra $400per month. I've tried making other arrangements with them, but they say no! They also say that if it goes to court, since it's supposedly for a business, that we'll be "screwed"!
What can we do? Please offer some advice!
Thank you!

I am new to car sales and I would like to know what the proper etiquette is. I did really well last month, out sold all the other sales people by almost double what the second highest person sold, and it seems I am only told things that I did wrong and not things that could help me. Most of the other sales people seem sour and dont even want to help/tell me the most basic things. If you have any advice or even just anything to help me exceed and be more successful please tell.

there is a new company in business that is threatening to put Bill's company out of business, they need to cut down costs so Bill's boss tells him to find cheaper corn, he finds it but the corn is contaminated with aflatoxin, a toxin that can cause cancer... Bill's boss tells him to buy it anyways that if they cant sell it in US the'll ship it overseas, what ethical issue is Bill facing for sending questionable products to other markets?

and paid with check from their bussiness account, do I have any rights if I'd been working for them for the last 6 years? I took some vacations, and a maternity leave, but not paid. Now, one of my employers had become verbally abusive, if something goes wrong 'cause there is no communication, what are my rights? I'm feeling more and more abused, and not feeling happy at all. Eventhough I've been trying my best to improve my quality of job.I feel burned, and I really need at least a week of time off. I'm willing to not get paid, but I'm affraid maybe I won't get my job back. BTW, I'm an working for a couple of RE agents in CA. Any suggestions?

drop off his pay stubs & had him sign a new contract at 24.99%. They said it was because of his credit, but they did a credit check the night we bought the car. Why didn't they see it that night if it was so bad? Yes the loan was only in his name & he already signed it, so not much we can do at this point, but I am upset that it changed so drastically. Do they always do this? BTW, my credit is worse than his, so I was excluded from the loan...

My wife and her partner set up an s-corp for their business which was started during 2007. They definitely did not turn any profit during their first year, but have a number of expenses and some revenue. Each of them paid for a variety of the expenses out of their own pocket prior to setting up a joint account for the business.

My question is how the s-corp gains (or losses in this case) flow through to both their individual tax returns. Do they fill out a combined form (I think its 1120S) and then split the assumed loss on both of their individual tax returns? Is this done 50/50 or is there some other method to do so?

What if the expenses were not shared equally during the year? Do they need to calculate how much they spent each and reconcile that with each other offline, so that when they fill out the tax forms, the loss that each receives is equal in actuality in addition to theoretically?

Thanks for your advice.

I need to know if this is legal or not:

I live in an apt complex in MILLBRAE, CA and the owner of our building has increased our rent. Now, he has given us the adequate time frame for notification but a lot of us tenants have been asking each other if they received a letter and/or increase. A LOT of tenants have NOT received ANY notices about rent increase and do not have to pay. It seems as though the owner is picking and choosing apts he wants to increase. Here are my questions:

1) Can he pick and choose rents he wants to increase?
2) If he intends on increasing the rent, doesn't he have to notify EVERYBODY of such increase?
3) If any of the above or not legal, as a tenant, what can we do?

I need advice. I currently work part time and go to school full time. I really need extra money and I want to maybe start working full time or 35 hours a week. I really like the job I am at right now but I need extra money and they do not have the full time hours I want/need. Should I look somewhere else? I am just sick of always being broke. I just need extra cash.

I graduated with my BArch, but I was unable to intern while I was in school (I have a family and couldn't move for 2 months in the summer, then I got pregnant in my last year of school). I am finding it difficult to find a job since I don't have experience, even though I have a good portfolio and excellent grades. I also have experience working with AutoCAD and REVIT... just not actual internships. The school I graduated from won't give internship information to non-current students. Does anyone have any suggestions?
