I like to take advantage of the cash back of major cards and coupons that many department stores give. I have about 8 different cards. Total probably around $20k in credit limit. Is it bad to have that much credit? I have no problem at all controlling my spending and have no debt-everything is paid in full every month. Some of the card's promos have ended and I can cancel a few but does this look bad also?

My Mom was asking me about this but I don't know anything about it so maybe you can help me. She was asking me about my brother who is stuck with a bunch of bills for a necessary operation he had on his leg. The hospital billed the insurance but they only payed part of some of the bills. What she was saying was that the hospitals were supposed to accept what the insurance payed and not expect the client to pay the balance. That doesn't sound right to me but I don't know anything about medical billing. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Thanks for your help.

I have received the absolute worst customer service from my phone/cable/internet provider in Houston, TX. Does anyone have any ideas who I can contact to make a HUGE complaint since nobody at the company will put me through to anyone that is in charge. They always give me to a voicemail and those people do not call back and when I tell them I will hold they won't let me.
Does the Better Business Bureau handle stuff like this? Is small claims court worth the effort (this company owes me for many missed appts- their pamphlets say they pay $20 per missed appt but now they can't seem to find any record of the 4 appts they missed...how convenient plus other various fees that I was promised I would not have to pay due to their incompetance).
Basically I am WAY beyond fed up with this company and do not want to let them get away with this just because they are a big company. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated.

If I sell my house for about $400,000 (my taxes are now $4500 because I bought this house 30 years ago) and buy a house in same neighborhood (Miami) for equal value, my taxes will quadruple. Is there any way through incorporations or LLCs or Trusts or exhanges to avoid this jump in taxes on my new purchase?

I have this SUPER easy job but I screw up alot (unintentionally). I got the last straw when I realized 2day when I got from work that I wrote all the dates of 2day on 2 dcmbr when we're the 3rd. I don't want my suprvisor to keep me cuz she feels sry 4 me. Is it a good idea if I tell her I screwed up AND that I understand if she fires me?

If I was my supervisor I'd honestly fire me. So is it a good or bad idea to tell her that she can fire me because I know I screw up alot?
Sry if I'm asking this alot..

Someone has just started calling my husband and I about a collection account that was incurred in March 2004. It was on a truck repossession, amount owed is approx $12k and it was charged off by the bank. The bank never called him or sent him letters about the debt and it is just now that we are getting these calls. The guy gives us his name and he's from NCB management Services Inc and insists that if we don't make payment arrangements he will sue us. He says that even though the account is charged off we still owe the money, but after examing DH's credit report it is listed as charged off with a balance of $0 and does not show up under the collections part of the credit report.

He said that they don't do business by mail. I insisted he mail me something and he told me that "i don't need to tell him how they run their business" I finally got something in the mail. and the statute of limitations on bad debt is 4 years, (march 2008) you think that's why i get the calls now?

We bought the house in June 2004 and sold in Sept 2007. It was our primary (and only) residence for the whole time period. I was perusing tax manuals and it is my uderstanding that we can exclude any money we made because it was less than $250,000; we owned (well it was mortgaged does that count as owned?) the house, and we lived in the house for over 3 years. Is my understanding correct that we can exclude our gain on our taxes?

I like him very much as a friend but I have apprehensions about working directly for him because I don't want our friendship to suffer. Could this work? What would I have to do or say to make this be successful? Has anyone ever done this and maintained a good friendship with the friend? Again, it has the potential to be a a very well paid position. Advice please?

with the way THEY do things. i have been in this trade (cabinetry) for 12 years, i have more experience then anyone there except the owner and one other person but there tools and machines are different and the way they build and install there cabinets is different then they way i have always done it so i have to become familiar with these new processes. this to me seems perfectly normal but for some reason some people there insist on treating me like i am an idiot and constantly question my experience and ability as if they cant even comprehend that i might be unfamiliar with certain things. i am so frustrated by this and its so offensive to me but i don't really know how to addr4ess it. i don't even want to work there at this point on account of the lack of respect people show me. should i just be completely blunt with them and tell them there out of line for there comments or is it a better show of strength and maturity to just let it go.

If tree limb falls into private yard from commercial property tree, and does damage a building. Who pays for damage, and who pays for tree removal? If no bldg damage, who pays for tree removal? If limb (or tree) falls into my yard from my neighbors and damages my property, who pays for damage and who pays for tree removal. If neighbor's tree falls into my yard, but does no damage to my property (just makes a mess), who pays for tree removal? Concensus of some of my co-workers is that the owner of the tree isn't liable for anything, nor is his insurance company. We are in NJ, and I know State Laws vary, but this last bit of thinking doesn't seem logical. Ok you CPCU's, ARM's, and CIC's put on your thinking caps. Thanks.
