I am a real estate agent and loan originator. I've heard the grumblings from other agents that grocery cart advertising never netted them any transactions, however I've got a good web presence and some other forms of advertising that I would like to do in conjunction with grocery carts. Can this work?

I'm not expecting phone calls off of the cart nor am I expecting people to do business with me because I'm on the cart. Again, I only am looking at the viability of increased awareness of my name/services with other advertising like direct mail, internet, etc.

I would never do business with someone just because they were advertised on a grocery cart.

Shopping Cart Advertising

The typical grocery cart advertisement is a black hole. I can't even remember a single product or service advertised on a grocery cart though I know I have seen them before. If it were a product sold in the store I was shopping in, I would give it a second look. It could add to the impulse buy.

It would have to be a fresh way of implementing the advertisement. The run of the mill stuff gets ignored.

Seems like it could be a little tacky, but an opportunity to write something witty about the strain of pushing a cart. My local markets have pre-printed ads on the back of register receipts. Have you fully developed your free Google Places page?, there's a similar local search ting on Yahoo too. These can be quite valuable for getting 1st page search engine listings without any advertising fee.

Most people don't pay attention to those. Women mainly go to the grocery store and when they have a kid or two, they're too busy to read thier grocery carts. Also, most people want to get in and get out and again are paying no attention to things like that.
